We stayed 1 night in a standard bed and breakfast room and it was wonderful. We had a great nights sleep. Bathroom is very spacious with a wonderful waterfall shower. Ironing board and iron in the wardrobe, safe, microwave and mini fridge/freezer too. The staff were lovely and very accommodating when I asked to check in a little earlier. The staff on the front desk were very helpful and very approachable too.nnWe had breakfast delivered to the room, we had 2 lattes, 2 apple juice, a plate of fruit, croissants, jam and butter and also 1 full English breakfast too and all the food was wonderful, very hot on arrival and the coffees were delicious.nnMy only issue that we had was a cleaning staff member knocked on our room door at 10:15am to ask when our check out was obviously wanting to get in to clean our room despite our check out not being until 11am. I spoke to front desk staff about it as it was a little frustrating given we were enjoying our breakfast and they made me aware that the housekeeping staff have a list of when check out timings are for each room so maybe the staff member was just being a little cheeky and trying to get on top of her workload. Albeit frustrating it would never put us off spending another night at Sandman Signature again as the hotel is beautiful, amazing quality of room for the price you pay, 99% of the staff you come across truly can’t do more to assist you, the location is brilliant as it’s close enough walking distance to all things within the city centre however far enough away you don’t get the noise of the city centre.
Booked hotel for an event that was unfortunately cancelled. Booked non refundable rate but was told I could change dates.nnEven although I could get the same rate I paid for an alternative date, staff said that the rate was an additional £40 or downgrade to a basement room for same price. I advised it was the same price as I had already paid. They said the room was non-amenable and they were doing me a favour. Very bad customer service, wouldn't stay again.nn**EDIT** Reply to response. I could find the same rate I paid through third party comparison sites and my alternative dates were flexible. Although the rate was non refundable, it did not state that it was non-amendable.nnI can now see where your manager gets the 'we are doing you a favour' attitude from. Just to be clear, you are not 'doing me a favour'. You are providing a service that I have already paid for.nnMy grievance was that every date I gave, you wanted an additional £40, despite me being able to go online and book that date for the original price I paid. When I tried to explain that the prices I found online were the same, your manager just spoke over me. The first person I spoke to was very helpful, when I phoned back with alternative dates, the manager I spoke to lacked in customer service skills. I see that you are going to carry on with the 'doing me a favour' mentality. Hopefully the customer service won't be so lacking when we stay, I'm not holding out much hope.
My stay at the hotel was generally pleasant — the room was clean, the location convenient, and the staff polite during my visit. However, I had a disappointing experience after check-out. I accidentally left an unopened Prosecco bottle in the room fridge and returned to the hotel shortly afterward to ask for it. The front desk told me the room had not yet been cleaned, but when they checked, they said the cleaning staff had already thrown it away. This inconsistency was frustrating, especially since the bottle was still sealed and could easily have been kept aside for me. It left me feeling that guest belongings aren’t handled with much care once you leave.
Good hotel. Food, drinks and service as you would expect. Only downside we found was the lack of light in the bedroom. Even with the blinds and curtains fully open and all of the lights on the room was still dark.
The hotel is beautiful as a building and inside! The room are nice too! Restaurant/Bar really spacious and good food. Breakfast buffet is worth it. However things to consider before you come here, parking is available and close but not easy to find and hassle. Also, we came in July and there was no Air conditioning in any room! It was hot, we were 4 in a room and the window was useless and so we're fans. So be warned.
