BEWARE!!! CAFE STAFF ALERT!!nVisit to Oban today for the National Mòd. Cafe staff at Tesco were very unfriendly & rude and took my son's unfinished food away and stared at him but ignored him when he said he wasn't finished eating. I then was lectured about eating food from their store at the cafe tables and informed that they were a franchise and asked to leave and take our 'picnic' with us! Words fail me. Apparently there are signs about the cafe franchise! I didn't see any...please put signs on tables for future unfortunate events.nnI guess what I'm trying to say. It ain't what you say, it's the way that you say it!! Very off putting making people feel so small and bad unwittingly.nnVery poor customer service from cafe staff!nLiked the ailse staff though.
i am going to focus on a section of Tesco's that is not connected to the store: The Oban Post Office.nnWhen you go in the main entrance, bear to the right to find the Post Office. Of course you can post letters and parcels there but our immediate need was currency exchange.nnWe had been told by the hosts of our guest house to keep the amounts reasonable as this is a small branch and could be drained by large demands. We experienced no difficulties - it was all efficient, professional and friendly.
This is a large Tesco with a cafe and a great selection of products with a fairly well stocked F&F clothing area. Good fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh flowers and along with all the normal groceries there is a good selection of stationary products. Easy to use although most are card only self-serving desks at exit with several aisles for staff assisted service, sadly only one member of staff on the tills on this visit, which forces people to use self-service, something I personally dont like, but use as a matter of course. Plenty of trolleys for use and a large carpark with a petrol station to top up, makes this a typical Tesco 'one-stop' for all your products however this Tesco was very clean and the staff I did speak to were polite and helpful so all thing's considered I recommend this superstore.
The parking lot was like a maze! The store had good prices/selection on the GF stuff but was rather dark and small. Definitely been to better Tesco's. Also, we bought some eggs and they had plastic in??? I don't know how that's physically possible but it was. Too far away to return the eggs
Visiting Oban & not knowing the area, I thought I could rely on Tesco to have a cafe & baby changing facilities but both closed. Left with no choice but to feed and change daughter in the car park in the pissing rain - poor show Tesco!
