The staff treated customers as a nuisance! Not been in for a while because of this attitude but i thought I’d give it a go this morning when I dropped my daughter at school. Surprise surprise no change with the attitude. I went to the ready meal cabinets to get my lunch , a female employee was in front of the product I wanted stocking up. I politely asked her if I could get to the cabinet and her response was well your stood in front of the cabinet I need to get too! Absolutely rude. I regret not asking to speak to the manager now but quite frankly shocked beyond words. Grab the first item, not what I wanted and left the store as soon as I could. Purchased my ofther shopping elsewhere. Manners cost nothing
It's one of those stores that exists in a sort of bubble, a little world of it's own if you like. It's a useful addition to Penwortham but I've had so many odd experiences here. Just one example, for now. They get the store open for 7am well done guys but the side car park that houses the electric car chargers is opened whenever they feel like it. Tesco Head Office have assured me that access to the chargers should be from opening time so after numerous failed attempts to charge on my way to work I finally decided to ask at customer services and got the response, 'he'll be at the garage or something, shouldn't be too long,' which I suppose made me chuckle but it's all so casual. Yesterday I popped in for a shop and as I left at 7:45 the barrier was still down. I guess 'he' was busy at the garage again! I'd love to meet him one day, I imagine he's very enigmatic & chilled. Store itself is quite limited in range & choice but considering it's size it's pretty good although personally I think the clothing section is a little pointless and the space would be better utilised to extend the grocery range. It's also clean & tidy. Staff are a mixed bag, some of them ok but others exist in that world of their own I alluded to earlier. When I next get a spare morning I'm going to sit and wait for the car park barrier/garage guy. Just out of curiosity, I'm still not convinced he exists tbh.....
The new self service tills are awful. They are slow and prone to mistakes being made. The cameras on them are really good high pixel quality,I could count the hairs on my nearly bald head,I might ask to look at the facial recognition footage to check my skin out and see if my face is similar to a typical Penwortham shoplifter.They are the 'weight' type ones now. Should be called 'wait a minute or so''.nPenwortham store seems to have vamped up security I've noticed. Maybe Penwortham shoppers are turning more to crime these days? Next step will be putting butter and chocolate in metal cages.nMy opinion,but a backwards step.
Terrible customer service. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to come here. None of the staff are helpful and very arrogant if you ask me. Puts me off going to any Tesco store to be honest.
First of all this store has only one and such a badly entrance into the site despite having access to two different streets.nAlso it has such a lazy personal in the evenings. No one interested to leave their important discussion in order to open at least one lane for the customers. You have to scan yourself and use a small shelf good only for a hand basket. If you have many products you just need to leave the ones that can't fit on the shelf. I took the time to arrange everything from my basket to fit in an fragile balance. Some employees clearly saw me but didn't bother.
