Walked into this store shortly after 6am in the morning and there were no staff present at all on the shop floor. I walked down one of the isles to pick up a bottle of water and sandwich for my breakfast, as I do on a daily basis, and slipped over straight onto my actual arse, can you believe it? An old couple approached me and offered to help me get up, nope, just nope, got up and walked straight out the shop; what a disaster.

Well run shop with a good selection of products considering the small size. The fresh goods (fruit/veg/meat) are usually of a good standard.

This Tesco Express store in Alvaston is pretty good for picking up what you need quickly. It's never too busy and it offers self service which is perfect for getting in and out ASAP in a few minutes. It also offers a bakery despite it being a small sized store. The staff are mostly friendly and helpful and are willing to have a conversation with you. The only downfall is that a few members of staff seem somewhat miserable. Also, there is not the widest selection.
