Interesting building on the old canal basin. Converted into a great pub. Staff are great, friendly and knowledgeable. If they don't know they find out. Food is good and not outrageously priced. Pastas come in two sizes, if you're having a starter might be better with the small. Which is like a normal plate in some other places. Selection of beers is good too. Huge range of spirits on the bar back. All are reasonably priced.
One of my favorite restaurants in Chester. Lovely views of the canal, amazing and cozy place and yummy food! Shame they stopped serving pies as they were delicious! I want them back!
Interesting rustic decor. Food excellent. Service was great. Hannah looked after us very well. Will definitely go there again.Food: 5/5
Good selection of real ales. Dog friendly, provided a clean bowl and there was an outside tap. Seating area by the canal. Bar staff were lovely.Service: 5/5
Excellent selection of bottled beers and a fair few on tap to satisfy your curiosity. Tables outside next to the canal compliment inside seating.
We initially had lunch and enjoyed it so much we returned for dinner, great selection of dishes and well made, friendly staff and great location.
Great atmosphere fab views canal. Good food, very friendly staff, fantastic interesting characterful interior.Food: 5/5
Booked a table for 7.30pm for food, drinks and quiz. The pub itself is nice, situated right next to the canal. Food was good, generous portions. We were served by a friendly and efficient waitress without too much of a wait between courses. Gluten free options are available. The quiz is obviously very popular as it got pretty busy but was good fun. Would recommend.
Absolutely delicious broccoli and pecorino soup served with tasty fresh bread and butter. Friendly staff, reasonable prices and lovely setting on the canal.Food: 5/5
The decor is very good. Enamel signs and other such antiquities give a good atmosphere. My meal was OK but my partner wasn't impressed with hers. My main complaint was the temperature. I'm sure it's a great venue in warmer weather, but it was freezing cold when we visited. We had to wear our coats while eating lunch. Lovely friendly staff. I'd definitely go again - when the winter's over! Parking: There were plenty of spaces when we were there, but I'd heard it's difficult finding a space at busy times.
