Firstly, the Chef's Table is a great small restaurant with some amazing food, great service, and a perfect atmosphere. I have eaten here twice, the first time 2 years ago the whole experience was amazing from start to finish. However, the second time was not so amazing. The appetizers were tasty, the starters were good too. However, I ordered the "Hen of the Wood" main, and it was rather unpleasant. The dish was extremely salty, to the point of not being enjoyable. Nonetheless the service was great, and the more of the first visit shines through. A good restaurant.
Honestly can’t fault this place. Great atmosphere. Incredible food. Lovely service. Really up there with the top of the top! You must try!
Absolutely incredible!!! One of the best meals we have ever had in our lives, we will definitely be coming back again very soon
Delicious Sunday lunch. Three courses for £33 is excellent value for the quality of the food. Cannot recommend enough. The soup is to die for. Yum yum yum!
After attending a stunning event at GROWING@FIELD28, where we were taken on a tour of the fields & poly tunnels, and tasted the most exquisite canapés during the tour. We were wined and dined on the same produce grown at Field28 which is also used at Little Chefs Table LCT, all of which were outstanding! That was how we found out about LCT. Luckily for us they had a cancellation, so we were able to book. The food again was sublime! The staff and customer service were fab. Only one issue being a table of 8 who thought that no one else in the small restaurant needed to be able to talk. Totally recommended
The restaurant is tucked away down a small side street so there is not much footfall outside. The building itself is small but not cramped. There is ample room between tables so it still remains a private dining experience. The set lunch menu is amazing value for money, especially when you compare the cost of the same meals on the dinner menu. It took longer than expected to have our order taken but the restaurant was fully booked. The food came out in good time and was absolutely delicious. The portion sizes were larger than expected due to the nature of the restaurant. After the starter and main we were full! Could not recommend Chef's Table enough! We will definitely be coming back!
Small but creative menu, great friendly staff. Haggis fritters to die for, fresh miso cod, and beef burgundy all hit the spot. Wine pairing was perfect, too.
We have visited Chefs table many times over the years and today was a special occasion so it was a natural choice. The main course a cauliflower dish was nice and so was the dessert, however I had a carrot soup which was not to their normal high standard and had some hard things in it that got stick in my teeth. They said croutons but these things where not crunchy, but rather chewy and adhered to my teeth....rather annoying. I reported it at the time and again at the end of the meal, when I requested the hill the soup was still on the bill. I asked if their was something they could do about the soup but the server first ignored me and only when I asked again did she go to speak with a manager. On returning she took about 50 pence off the bill for my.....'personal preference issue' as she called it. This was not a great experience, was not good service and made us feel uncomfortable. I hope the management can reflect on this as something has gone wrong today.
Found this amazing place by chance, only staying in Chester for a couple of days. It was honestly one of the best meals we have had. The menu is interesting and staff make you feel extremely welcome. The food was sublime!!
Superb menu - surf and turf for starters followed by haunch of venison finishing with ginger pudding. Couldn’t fault the food or service. What a treat - Saturday lunch with family. Thank you
