Teifi Harps
"About Teifi HarpsMaking harps in Wales is a tradition which stretches back centuries. Our not-for-profit community enterprise was founded by harp maker Allan Shiers. Allan has been making harps for over 40 years and was an apprentice to the late renowned harp maker John Weston Thomas. Our workshop is located in a converted Victorian school by the River Teifi in Llandysul, West Wales and employs a small team of local, skilled staff who make our harps by hand. Our aim is to secure the harp-making traditions of Wales for future generations, as well continually improving the sound and construction of the instrument. We combine traditional craftsmanship with innovative technology and modern materials."

Having waited many years to learn the harp, I was delighted to find Teifi harps. When I visited I was given a warm welcome and taken on a fascinating tour of the workshop where the harps are made. Ros was really patient and helpful, answering my many questions, and allowing me time to try the Celtic harps available. I have chosen a beautiful new Siff Saff and started my harp lessons. I cannot recommend Teifi highly enough and it is a privilege to own such a skillfully crafted quality instrument.
My wife and daughter bought a harp from Teifi Harps earlier this year. It’s not possible for me to overstate how brilliant this company are! The customer service is absolutely second to none, Ros is a fantastic manager and the most patient, helpful, kind and understanding person. The staff we met when we collected the harp were also lovely and friendly and even gave us a tour of the workshops, explaining how the harps are made. The quality of the harp is outstanding, the sound is absolutely beautiful. It’s clearly extremely well made. We bought the Siff Saff student harp and it is perfect for our needs. We couldn’t recommend Teifi Harps highly enough, you can have total confidence purchasing or hiring a harp through them. We also loved that they are a social enterprise keeping alive the local tradition, was a real bonus to by from a principled British company! Thank you so much to Teifi Harps and Ros in particular.
Beautiful harps with a lovely warm tone. Excellent quality craftsmanship with everything being made in the workshop in Wales. Not to mention how friendly and enthusiastic the staff are. If you decide to buy your harp from Teifi harps you won't be disappointed.
So excited to have brought home a Teifi Siff Saff for our daughter. The team at Teifi have been amazing since the first time we got in touch with them and genuinely care about their customers and the craftmanship of their harps. From the workshop tour, to the knot tying masterclass, nothing has been too much trouble. The harp looks and sounds wonderful and I feel confident we will continue to receive first class customer service from Ros, Mark, and the team at Teifi Harps.
A beautiful harp which I am so enjoying playing. Wonderful service from Ros and the team - they could not have been more helpful. Even ensured that it arrived in time for my birthday complete with a birthday card! Delighted to have bought a harp made in Wales from this excellent business.
We adore our new harp. The sound is fantastic and Ros was so helpful. Delighted to be supporting a small, local business too!
I recently bought an EOS harp from Teifi Harps, which I absolutely love! The harp is beautiful in both craftsmanship and sound. I have not only been impressed by the beautiful harp itself, but also by the staff who are always very friendly and helpful.
My Nico harp is a beautiful sounding harp benefitting from having both wire and gut strings. I've played it at folk clubs and my playing has been described as both serene and perky. The Nico is a versatile instrument - i'm currently practicing Scarborough Fair and the theme from Game of Thrones. The staff at the workshop are very helpful.
I'm so pleased with my beautiful plinth for my Eos harp. I've had my eye on one for some time and it's very exciting to finally have one. It arrived promptly and looks beautiful and I'm happy to support a small and lovely welsh business. Diolch yn fawr Iawn!
