Teagasc is an agri and food research institute located at Ashtown, Dublin, and all over Ireland. It has wonderful, Friendly, and motivating working environment. All collueges are trying to build a rapport. Technician, technologist, post-doc, PhD positions are opening all the year round. Besides that teagasc also offer position for Master student to carry out thesis work and internship positions. It has different dept., i.e., meat research, bioactive compound isolation, proteomics, food quality, sensory science, food security, microbiology, algae research, etc. Salaries of relevant positions are generally disclose in the job advertisement. Furthermore, teagasc Ashtown Branch includes people from different parts of world, it is highly diverse so there is chances to meet and learn from new people all over the world. Teagasc is an equal opportunity place.
Amazing Horticulture research being done
One of the biggest food and agriculture research institute in Ireland. They accept PhD/master thesis students in collaboration with UCD, University College Cork, DIT, Trinity College etc. There are also volunteer internship positions for students across the world. PhD students & post-doc researcher can apply for Walsh fellowship or marie curie fellowship but for MSc students scholarships are bit tricky. In addition, there are always open positions as technologist & technician, for freshly graduated MSc or BSc students. Teagasc has wonderful labs with cutting-edge technologies. Many dairy & agri companies have collaborative projects with tegasc researchers therefore someone with Tegasc working experience can definitely switch to other companies with good salaries in future. Interesting research station, seem to work on meat analysis, plant breeding and, oddly, have a division that breeds snails for meat production.
This is the research facility for Teagasc. It has conference facilities and also is a horticulture training centre for students studying at the Botanic Gardens.
