Great place for full dental care. Lots of staff and hence lots of support for all sorts of dental treatments without wasting your time or money.nnNearly all treatments are upstairs with no lift. Something to keep in mind for those who can't climb stairs.nLovely reception / waiting room on the ground floor. Reception upstairs for appointments etc.nnTreatments are good. As tech is relatively new too. Which always helps.nnThey do take nhs patients. But you need give your contact details via a quick online form. Then will reply via email asking for you to come in and fill in a form. And possibly get an NHS dental treatment. Which is very helpful for some.nnNot a huge amount of parking. Usual town rules apply. Close by parkings are in Bury street car park and Meadow centre car park / asda.
Referred over for emergency appointment through 111, was called by this practice the following day to schedule an appointment, after arranging appointment they the called back to say they wouldn’t see me as I allegedly had “4 missed appointments” I was under 18, under parental responsibility and was not made aware of any appointments due to this not being my responsibility as a CHILD as I was explaining this to the caller, they then hung up mid sentence... Extremely rude service and so disappointed with this experience. By the looks of the reviews I have clearly dodged a large bullet, have now arranged an appointment with a different practice and the service was amazing. I would strongly advise to avoid this practice as they are very unprofessional.
Zero stars — and that’s being generous.nThe glowing reviews must be from the staff, because I can’t imagine anyone else having a good experience here.nI was referred by NHS 111 and got a call to book an appointment — brilliant, right? Not even a minute later, another call: Oops, that slot’s gone! But, lucky me, I could still have the exact same time if I paid privately. How convenient.nCompassion? Nonexistent. Professionalism? Questionable. Even NHS 111 were shocked by the stunt they pulled.nThis place has been a running joke for years, and somehow they’re still managing to disappoint.nDo better — or maybe just stop altogether.
Had a very good experience, even as a self proclaimed very nervous patient. The receptionists were polite & welcoming and Dr Wyley & her assistant/technician was brilliant. I required a wisdom tooth extraction and they was patient, considerate and friendly throughout. I cannot speak highly enough of the practice myself based off of my own experience and hope that I manage to get onto their registered NHS patient list next year.
I’m sadly not at all surprised to wake up and see the EADT news today about patients being forced to pay for cancelled appointments. My own recent experience with Tavern Dentistry was extremely disappointing.nnA couple of weeks ago, I had to cancel an appointment around 45 minutes outside the 48-hour window — a Monday morning appointment that I cancelled first thing on the Thursday morning. I had been called in last-minute to cover a prep school trip because a staff member fell very ill, and there was genuinely no way around it.nnWhen I called to explain, I was met with sheer rudeness and a complete lack of empathy. The reception team were blunt, unhelpful, and spoke to me with all the warmth of an automated system. Despite several attempts to discuss the situation, I was repeatedly refused a conversation with the head of the practice, who seems to hide behind the reception staff rather than address concerns directly.nnIn the end, I was forced to pay the full cancellation fee, despite having been a patient at this practice since I was six years old.nnGone are the days of Denise Taylor, when the practice felt genuinely welcoming and family-oriented. It now feels like a cold, transactional operation with little regard for the local community or for individual circumstances.nnBased on my experience — and clearly from reading other reviews and today’s news — it seems I’m not the only one learning the hard way. Personally, I would not recommend this practice to anyone.
