Staffs provided warm and quick service. We enjoyed the Japanese Currys with pork and chicken. The sushi roll was nice too. Very generous on food, Its big portion for ladies in my view. They also served hot tea after meal. Love it!
What a nice surprise!!! The food was excellent, friendly staffs and well trained regarding the dishes. Definitely deserved to be recommended...just better to book before cause was nearly full when I went there...I was lucky Def will return for sure.
Delicious, great service and some extras. I recommend everyone who's in London to travel to this restaurant! Their ToriKatsu Curry is simply to die for! The Chicken Kara-age was also delicious. After dinner you get some complementary green tea and a stamp card to save for a free dish. Be mindful though, 1 main dish is enough to fill you up! So don't order too much ; I also recommend booking a table in advance since the restaurant isn't that big.
Absolutely fantastic food and super authentically Japanese! Probably the best Japanese restaurant I have ever visited in London! The service was great and the atmosphere was nice. Definitely coming back soon!Food: 5/5
They forgot my order so I could only eat when everyone else finished. Other than that the katsu was very freshly and nicely fried and the pork just the right fatness. A bit pricey for what it is but overall worth a try. Loved the interiors too!
Nice, fresh and tasty food. A different take on some of the items, e.g. would have preferred more rice to shavings, an attempt at looking sophisticated but not typical. A little pricey compared to other similar restaurants. Good service and helpful staff.
Finally some pork katsu that juicy not dry. The Karaage is crunchy and a bit dry but like that the dash of spicy mayo that paired perfectly with fried chicken. Their homemade vinegar mix was amazing, drip a few drops on my cabbage and I happily finished the entire chunk plus bought a bottle myself. Store are in medium size so ~50 seats, quite spacious as some seats are arranged to face the wall so the walkways are always cleared.
One of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve tried in London! They make the best sauce that goes with the katsu and everyone loves their food! I had the beef teriyaki and it was amazing! The beef was thinly sliced and the sauce was really tasty. I went down the treat! The express bento has a great combo of chicken katsu, karaage, sushi and plum croquette, Highly recommended! Everyone enjoyed the lunch and that’s a place that we will revisit again! We really really enjoyed it.
Tanakatsu serves a delicious selection of Japanese cuisine. The staff were friendly and welcoming and very considerate in my table booking. The photos include a chicken katsu & chicken teriyaki, chicken katsu don and soft shell crab roll. The chicken was fresh and pleasing to eat, in a way that the batter had a good crunch, scrumptious and not oily. Vegetables were fresh too! The service from the waiters were alright to excellent however, we had a man who was obviously new, serve us. He was somewhat nervous but display an approachable and soft attitude which is always needed in customer service! Although he got 2 of our orders wrong, the mistake was quickly solved by others with a generous portion of rice and salmon. Overall a positive experience in Tanakatsu and will be coming back to try the other dishes next time.
Portions are big, plenty of options and free parking space at night. The katsu are soft in the middle but slightly hard with the batter/breadcrumbs with my pork. However, overall pretty good place to try out if you haven’t been.
