Great spot at the end of Drury Lane in the heart of the theatre district. Simple, honest and easy Vietnamese dishes in an unassuming setting. For lunch, try just one main and you will be fine! Portions are healthy for the price and in fact, a couple of starters may even be sufficient. Food was tasty, quick and traditional.
Reserved a table, I mentioned it when I arrived but still received an email stating I was a no show. Food was good portion, tasty , good temperature, but the broth lacked "oomph", even after adding some extras to it. Reasonable price quality quantity balance. Staff sitting at a table browsing their phone , wearing track suit jackets, not giving the most professional appearance. Very friendly though.
Amazing, quick service. Lovely atmosphere. I had the summer rolls okay and the Hanoi street style BBQ pork phenomenal. It came with these amazing crispy spring rolls, and was so fresh and delicious. A+ I'd definitely come here again.Food: 5/5
Best Pho soup! The broth was very very nice with complex taste and the spring rolls were also super delicious. That service was great, I forgot my Louis Vuitton bag at the restaurant, which was very busy at the time. When I realized I thought I probably lost it already but the staff kept it very well for me. Highly appreciate it. Thank you.
Great food, we dined in and sat at the back of the restaurant. Quick service, loads of variety. I ordered pork belly and it was delicious. Definitely want to torture and try some other dishes
The pho tastes very good and they give a wide selection. Portion sizes are not the biggest for Vietnamese restaurants but it can fill you up just enough. You will need a booking to avoid the long queues, but during dinner hours it’s very busy and noisy inside.Recommended dishesHoa Sen Signature Pho Combo, Classic Pho
I’ve been a regular here with my boyfriend for a while and I can 100% recommended. One of my favourite restaurants for a bowl of pho, with really soft beef and hot broth. The side dishes also never disappoint. Makes for great comfort food and will continue to support!
No hesitation for giving five star to this restaurant. This is the best Vietnamese restaurant I've ever tried in London. Authentic taste, good food and ambience. Definitely will visit again.
Food is lovely, I ordered the Bun Bo Hue which was fragrant and spicy. The spring rolls are a bit expensive, you can finish the plate in four bites but they are the most delicious bites. What let us down was the service. There was three of us and our mains were all served at different times. The last of us to get their main had been waiting 30-40 minutes since the first main was served. Our waitress was avoiding eye contact the whole time. Even the chef came up from the kitchen and started berating the wait staff which I assume was due to wrong/late orders. He was telling off the staff for 15 minutes which left a sour taste in our mouths.
Ever since my favorite King's Cross Vietnamese restaurant, Viet Baguette, closed, I've been looking for a place to replace it. Their three specialties are crispy fried fat end,  Vietnamese braised pork, and roast meat with rice or rice noodles. Later, when I browsed Xiaohongshu and saw that Hoa Sen had crispy fried fat end, I immediately called Vicci, who is also a loyal fan of Viet Baguette, and rushed to eat together. ⏳ When I went to eat Vietnamese food, I have always walked in. Seeing so many people in Hoa Sen, I really regret that I didn't make a reservation, but fortunately I only waited for 5 minutes to get a seat. There are 2 of us, ordered 5 dishes, totall cost is £74 Mango Jellyfish Salad This taste is really amazing! Although it's a bit too spicy for me, the combination of crispy jellyfish + sweet mango + fresh cucumber is simply amazing [but I drank a bottle of water after eating] Vietnamese Braised Pork Tender Pork Belly Stew This dish was only £6.5 at Viet Baguette, and it came with rice + a whole fried egg. Hoa Sen's price is  £11.9, and we also ordered rice for £3.5. But the taste is still very good, 99% close to VB's method, the meat skin is fried first and then stewed, the fat meat is soft and glutinous, the lean meat is delicious, and it is served with half a tiger-skin egg. Cryspy Bagbagis & Toufu with Vermichelli Noodles This dish was also £6 in VB, but only the crispy fried fat end and no other side dishes, Hoa Sen is £13.9. The taste of the crispy fat end is exactly the same as that of VB. I wonder if they got the chef from VB . There is a gray shrimp paste mắm ruốc in the middle of this dish. The taste is salty and umami, but the smell is very strong. Most people are not used to eating it. I recommended that you taste it with a fork before deciding whether to use it with rice noodles. The fried tofu is also delicious, crispy and dry, and the surface is not oily at all. Roasted quail It is a very authentic Vietnamese snack appetizer. The marinated quail meat is very delicious and juicy, the taste is delicate, and the bones are small. Hanoi Style Banh Cuon Rice Rolls Vietnamese rice rolls are different from Cantonese-style rice rolls and Hong Kong-style rice rolls. The skin is thin and tough, oily and smooth. We chose the pork flavor. The stuffing inside is fried minced pork + wood ear mushroom, and topped with crispy shallots.
