I had only few recent telephone assessments with some "student" on her internship for TalkPlus in Surrey. I have been referred to them from my local GP. I have received only few telephone calls from the service and no face to face visit was ever made. In the end, I was ask on the phone to to rate my daily moods from 0-5 etc- script read and repeated by the student over and over again- how likely you are etc... I have decided to opt out from this Talk plus service as it is intimidating and you feel like you call a call center in Dheli rather than medical professional. Month after this took place I received a call from Children Social Services that they need to come and visit me and my daughter. Talk Plus have reported me to the Social Services. Thank you! You not only breached my trust with you but also used unlawful my personal details as I have not signed any declaration to use my details etc. I understand that in the UK it is easy to report someone to Social Services, however this is a waste of public money to investigate cases like mine!! The problem was my health and my well being not my daughter's!! You lost my trust! Be aware people what you getting in with this so called free service on NHS to help you with your mental health!

1:1 CBT/counselling I found extremely helpful compared to the group sessions which I found was more like a beginners course & no use whatsoever.

Two Lady's came to my home to what I though was a quick assessment on my needing to tslk to a proffecional about an attack I sustained leaving me disabled. My wife recently left me and I have a 3 year old but instead of helping me they called me to let me know that I had been exsept ed onto the course and how the 'Voices in my head were'!!!!!!! So not only misinterpreted as a schysophrenic which is not only damaging to my future development and recuperation plus untreated they raised concerned with Childs Social Services about concerns over how much pain killing medication I was on whilst in charge of my own child whom I have been caring for 3 years on this medication. The medication was cleared with CAFFCASS and my Dr when I was attacked yet Children's Social Services have made me aware if it was not for my estranged wife clarifying the leagal obligation to our child's safety via communication before she was dropped off my daughter may have been blocked from seeing me! TALK PLUS ARE NOT A) capable of interpretation of important information but also NOT HELPING ANY ONE BY BEING INTRUSIVE AND CREATING LIES TO GAIN BROWNY POINTS WHEN ALL IT TOOK WAS A LOOK AT MY MEDICAL AND CAFFCASS REPORT WHILST HERE! Furious

I attended the initial session (Sat 12th Nov) and felt it was like a beginners course in depression and anxiety. I made an observation about depression in which my language was agitated and contained an f word. During the break I was taken aside where it was understood that my depression was quite bad but was then asked not to swear. 'You're talking about feelings, etc, one's language is hardly going to be calm!' Before attending the course attendees should be gauged on their stage of depression and severity. The 'beginners course' was absolutely useless and exacerbated my condition for the rest of the day. I've opted for 1:1 CBT with Talk+, I hope things will get better...???
