Description
Talk of the Town was open back in 2009 when it was called the little pasta place. Pasta with a Caribbean twist saw the Jamaican flavors out perform the pasta.
So we decided to open Talk of the Town.

We hope that you have been lucky enough to experience the great flavours of Talk of the Town!

I paid £5 for a portion of rice & peas + 80p for a fried dumpling & this the scraps they sold me! For a £5a , I at least expected a full box of rice ffs! Under new management?! Just as bad as the last!! Never again! & yes, they did put the dumpling in the same box as the rice even though i paid for them separate! And adding insult to injury. Yesterday’s rice was nasty!!!!!
Was recommended to try the corn mill porridge the lady which served me dose not have manners of speaking. And the porridge was like drinking an English cup of tea, watered down fully, absolutely revolting £6.00 pounds which absolutely ripped off. You can’t run a business with that attitude, that’s why you want get far in life with that attitude and approach to customers.
Hit up talk of the town finally based on Dudley road . I got the mutton curry with spicy rice and steamed veg. My brother got the jerk chicken with peas and rice as well as a one piece BBQ chicken . The food was banging , absolutely lovely . Enjoyed every single bite and the customer service was top notch also .
First time Ive received such a small portion for £3.50. Asked staff member and she said it’s a big piece.Food: 4/5
I asked if the food was halal and was shown a print-out of the word halal in Arabic, I asked to see a halal certificate from the company supplying the meat, I was told they Didn’t have one but they get their meat from the halal butchers. I was puzzled but believed them. I asked if their patties were halal and was told yes, ordered a one, the server gets one out of the fridge, removes the packing & bins it & then puts the patty in the microwave to heat it up, I asked to see the packaging and saw it wasn’t halal! I informed her, cancelled the order & left! Beware of places claiming to be halal, ask to see a certificate as proof, they should make it readily available for customers! Be warned!
Sat 20 Jan 2024 purchased at 3.50pm at the Slade Road branch Erdington. I have just had the most wonderful meal. Ordered 2 large mutton soups. XLg meal and had the Oxtail and curried goat /mutton. It's one of the best Caribbean meals I have had in the longest time. I have put the date and time of my purchase, as the lady who served us had the most amazing customer service!!! Warm and welcoming, with a lovely gracious personality. You left us feeling that you really valued us as your customers. Thank You so much
Listen, YUMMY. Seriously very good jerk chicken and the oxtail.... exactly as I'd cook them. Tender and just delicious. Would be returning.

Talk of the Town is a great Caribbean restaurant with quality food and good customer service. I've been going to there for years and they've never disappointed me. Wide range of delicacies at reasonable prices and healthy portions. Always have and always will recommend.
