Disappointing... Friends we were visiting had booked this place for lunch on a Saturday. The tables didn't appear to have been reserved, but luckily it wasn't busy, so we sorted our own tables out. I ordered the Beetroot , butternut squash & spinach wellington. When it came and I cut into it, it was immediately obvious that the pastry at the bottom wasn't cooked and too thick. So I returned it as the waitress wasn't sure if it was cooked or not... In the meantime our friends did enjoy their lunches. When the second wellington came I asked the waiter to stop, whilst I checked it again. This time a bit more of the pastry appeared to be cooked, but there were still some uncooked layers on top of the partially cooked bottom part. On taking it back again the message from the chef was that it was cooked and it was meant to be that way. But he/she didn't show. Needless to say, I didn't eat the bottom part, leaving a meagre filling in which I couldn't find said spinach either. The rest of the food was okay. Just avoid this particular item on the menu.
Nice snug little room, well furnished, clean and quiet, despite being right on the road. The pub was nice, very dog friendly, with a good menu. The food was nice, not outstanding or special, but good. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is a bit out of oxford so you need a car as taxis are tricky. Nice walks in the area and pretty countryside.
Enjoyed our overnight stay! Very comfortable bed & good shower! The staff were fantastic, one of the girls should be on the stage with her comedic repertoire, I apologise for not catching her name! The location is lovely just by the Wharf which kept the heat down, which was welcome on a very hot weekend! Only downside is being so close the road, which we hoped would quieten down through the night. Overall a lovely stay!
The man behind the bar was super friendly with us and everyone, very talkative and we felt so welcome there! We only went for a pint of Pepsi but loved the experience
I booked a table for Sunday lunch for my brother and I to take our parents for a birthday treat. The welcome was amazing with fabulous staff. Never have I been offered a bed for my dog lovely touch and a handful of treats. The menu choice was fab and there was something for every one of us. The food was plentiful and freshly cooked. Amazing experience we will be returning
An amazing time on Mothers day. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive and so genuine. The food was excellent with massive portions! Really loved it here and we were made to feel so welcome even with our very messy 1 year old!! Haha! Definitely be back and definitely highly recommend.Service: 5/5
Went here for a few drinks and a bite to eat. We both had a baguette and both Bree and bacon / chicken and bacon were well filled and tasty. Service was also very friendly. I would go again.Service: 5/5
Stop overnight on way home from Cornwall. Every pub should have a 'goose ' the manageress so friendly and warming and can give and take banter. As for the food it's a good 8.5 , but ...... please bare in mind I gave Gordon Ramsey a 7 . We will be backRooms: 4/5
It's the place "what you paid for " - not expensive so very basic. Next to the busy road, very noisy. Bathroom door with a lot of dirty hands marks room 5. Strange check in time 5pm to 10pm. Food and service was good though
Clean room, near where I needed to be in Eynsham, and the staff were super helpful and kind. Breakfast the following morning for a small fee was amazing! Will definitely stay again!Rooms: 5/5
