Popped in for lunch with our 1 year old, lunch in the bar next to a lovely fireplace. Relaxing atmosphere. Host was very friendly and young barman very attentive. Food was delicious! We will be back :
A great find. Booked for a midway meet with friends. The sun shone on us, which made walking alongside the Thames a real pleasure. Comfortable rooms and restaurant/bar. Good value food. Friendly, efficient staff. Enjoyed our stay and hope to return.
Had a fabulous valentines dinner, the only slight criticism is the scallop had good colour but was completely raw and jelly like in the middle, as I'm pregnant I couldn't eat it.. shame. The BROWNIE however was made by the Gods, the best brownie I've eaten hand also down! We will certainly be recommending and popping along again soon!
We went to the Rose Revived for our first meeting. We wanted a lovely environment, space to chat, good food and friendly service. I'd give 5 stars for each of these criteria, everything was perfect. Parking was absolutely ample. Thank you everyone and perhaps we'll return if things continue to go well
Had Scampi & Chips which was hot on arrival and very tasty. Very much improved since a visit a couple of years ago. We were not hurried to leave and spent a leisurely afternoon chatting. Staff mostly friendly but I will reserve further comment until I visit again.
Not exactly the warmest of greetings by ‘the man at the desk’ .. and the gammon… tiny piece in fact the pineapple slice was marginally bigger! Filled out with chips on a huge plate… and why does the waitress ask if you want sauces when she has no intention of bringing them?? would not return any time soon. Real shame as this pub COULD be great … just needs owners/hosts who care about customers
The refurbishment is lovely but oh dear you need to improve the standard of your meals and service. I had the Atlantic cod which was all batter - spot the fish! The peas were dried up and I think the chips had been reheated. We were given the dessert menu but as no-one came for ages we left without dessert. No-one came to see if we wanted more drinks. Not good for a Monday night when the place was half empty. Very disappointing!!
Such a lovely ambience and Christmas decorations too . And such friendly staff with great value and delicious lunchtime light dishes too. First rate. Must return!
Worst welcoming experience we’ve ever had in a restaurant! We booked a table for 6 adults on a Sunday afternoon and when arrived at the reception with 6 adults, a baby and a toddler, the man in the front door was super rude, dreadful and arrogant! He said he couldn’t accommodate the additional kids whatsoever. The weather was beautiful with all the tables outside empty and he didn’t gave himself the effort to offer us another alternative. We said that kids could sit in our laps during lunch and he simply said that this is not how it works and asked us to leave. Honestly, I never thought that my family could have such a worse experience like we had today. Looking at other reviews, this is not the first episode at all. I really hope you take this into consideration to avoid other customers feeling the same as we felt today.
We went recently on a Saturday for my birthday, I personally hadn't been for a few years, but my parents visit regularly. We were greeted by the sight of a rather drunk older gentleman staggering out of the entrance to the bar, and spitting into the planters outside - charming... Upon entering the main bar area, we went to the desk where the manager barely acknowledged us, handed menus to us without even making eye contact and pointed to a table... Thankfully from there our experience improved... The food was well cooked, the lady who served us was lovely, and couldn't have been nicer. I probably won't be visiting again as I can't support an establishment where customer service is lacking, and judging by the response to some of the reviews, it would appear that the management aren't particularly bothered. Shame, as it's in such a wonderful location, but the front of house lets it down.
