Story

Tabnabs is a newly opened tea room. The building is over 200 years old and was once a chapel & then a school room. It was restored in 2003 & was rented out as shop & office space. When it became empty in 2011 my dream of opening a cafe became reality.

Why Tabnabs?
Tabnabs is a Merchant Navy term for a small cake or bisciut you have with your cuppa. Barry, my late husband, was a Merchant Seaman & my sons & I wanted to have a name to mark his memory.

Lovely little cafe serving breakfast and afternoon meals. We went for breakfast and had full English which was great with nice sausage and bacon sourced locally from the bytchbuin rown. Wide variety of teas and cakes also available for later meals or a quick stop off with some bigger meals also available.

A great place for local food, coffee and delicious cakes, we come here for somewhere quiet to study and have a bite to eat.

Lovely small cafe (two small floors) with a delicious selection of lunches and cakes and excellant staff. Conveniently in the heart of Mattishall village. Pricing is pretty reasonable.
