Absolutely shocking. My uncle who is a disabled brain injured person has been stuck in a chair for the best part of 4 months now. Reported this countless times to the idiots at the council, they then call the disabled person, who has no recollection of their conversation. They have been told numerous times to call the caregiver and not the patient but they never return my calls or messages. Next stop is naming and shaming the "social workers" in the paper. They are genuinely the most ridiculous group of dim people I've ever known. Swindon council offer zero support.
Lived in Swindon for the best part of 30 Years. I thought it was normal for a council to try to take money off of you whenever possible and are there just to try and take your money. Only realised councils can actually be helpful and try to improve your life once I left Swindon. Just one example from many many, getting a parking ticket on New Years Day Last Year and another ticket Boxing Day this year. Both tickets at 8:30 in the morning on a bank holiday, on a road where it’s fine to park there in weekends. SBC really go out of their way to make your lives harder, always unhelpful, never answer their phones, took them 4 months to pay me back money they owed me. Terrible Council, do better.
Probably the worst council in the UK. On hold for very long periods or cannot get through at all. Took 3 months to get a parking permit then it went online paid for another now keep getting parking fines even though I have a MiPermit in place. This has now been resolved very quickly I must add it may have something to do with getting the Mp involved but I had a good response so going to add another star..
Absolute joke of a council, I have never lived anywhere with such a bad council as this. They take as much as they can from its citizens and give nothing in return. First kept on the phone for 2h to find out my application was not processed since November last last. Was told to wait for a phone call today for things to be sort out! No phone call and nothing done again. So again waited on the phone for 3 h, when answered tried to talk but very rude and unprofessional staff hang up phone on me! What a joke!!!
Wasn't the best service. Got homeline for peace of mind as dad kept falling due to his illness. Used a few times but on one occasion he was picked up and popped back into bed while he was clearly in pain. He shouted out in pain while they had him under his arms and pulled him up. We called the paramedics later that day as something wasn't right,dad spent 3 days in hospital. Now dad has passed away I'm still being invoiced three months after his death. Shocking
You are getting one star because I cannot do zero. I'm extremely disappointed with the service. I have moved to Swindon with two school aged children. I have applied for them for a school as early as possible. I have asked to wait for 14 days before doing anything. When called after 14 days, they want to send a new application because they can't look at the emails. With the new application I have to wait another 2 weeks for a reply. I have seen beuricracy and inefficient state service at different parts of the globe, but, this is a whole new level!
Try getting a parking permit for 3 months .After some on decided 15 spaces were enough for 36 flats . Complained many times .you can only talk to people taking the calls they can put you through to talk to a certain department. In 2 years swindon council has got the worst council in the uk .
Terrible council. They don't care. Waste money. Doesn't know what communication is and does not stick to time frames. Phone lines are always busy ans contact hours are limited at best . Absolute disgrace
Came to visit Swindon for a day and took a visit to Fish Brothers Toyota... on leaving the dealer we followed a bus out of penzance road however as the bus was sitting over the bus lane only warning painted on road I was unaware of contravention and not being fully familiar with the junction did not see any signs warning me......... I truly think this is a money making exercise especially for tourists or people not familiar with their surroundings to obviously catch them out... and to think Swindon run a ridiculous so called magic roundabout that you need to be on magic mushrooms to use.... Shame on you council
Reported a serious breach of road safety by Instalcom workman. They blocked the only section of pavement with there signs. Provided photograph Forcing people to walk into the road passed fast flowing traffic. The traffic constantly flows because a build out has been installed which allows single file traffic up and down the road. Mrs Belcher Environmental Highways Inspector replied I should report defect on SBC website. Roads safety issues are not a defect they are unlawful acts.
