"Owned and managed by Swanston Farm and opened in 2007, Swanston Brasserie beholds fantastic views, overlooking Edinburgh, the Pentland Hills and towards the Firth of Forth and East Lothian beaches. Open to the public, Swanston Brasserie offers something for everyone; including breakfast, lunch, tea, coffee, cakes and our famous scones and is also open for dinner on Fridays, Saturdays and early dinner on Sundays. Available for groups, weddings, christenings, wakes and exclusive use events. Family friendly, disabled parking, disabled access and service dogs welcome. All of our dishes are freshly prepared and where possible, we use ingredients sourced from local businesses and from our 700 acre farm.NB: This is not Swanston Golf Club"

Lovely place, a but too posh for me, especially if you go there after the hike up the farm to see highland cows. Stuff lovely tho and the orange cake strange, but delicious! The coffee is not the greatest but not the worst. The kitchen was closed at 4pm which was not ideal either.
A hidden gem, far from the hustle & bustle of the city. Tucked away on the base of a hill / golf course. Excellent food & beverage offering. Prompt service & attentive staff. Unfortunately could not spot the highland cattle . Nachos, fish & chips, Mac n cheese and vegan curry with saffron pulaf. All of them were good.
Swanston Brasserie is a hidden gem. Based at the foot of the Pentlands Hills between Hillend and Colinton. Amazing views across Edinburgh through the full length glass windows and the food is to a high standard. The staff are friendly and attentive and make you feel welcome from when you walk in to when you walk out. If you fancy a walk before or after there are resident Highland Cows and a couple of golf courses too.
Nice ambiance looking on the city to the pentland hill. Staff accomodating and warm. A bit frustrated a bit with the curry. But aside from that, we certainly enjoy the service.
The food was excellent as was the service. I was part of a table of six people and every one thought this was a great meal. One star of the atmosphere as it was difficult to hear the conversation due to the background noise coming from the other tables. I presume everybody was happy as they were lots of smiling facesFood: 5/5
For many years I have loved going to the Brasserie after a good walk in the Pentland Hills and had an amazing cake/ scone & cup of tea afterwards with friends. The food is delicious, but I think it is the friendly staff and relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that I enjoy the most.

My friend and I only had a soft drink. When I paid, the cheeky waiter said " bet that broke the bank!" We were not impressed. Lovely place, great location. Perhaps some staff training is required.
Nice environment and tasty breakfast.. friendly staff too.. after having breakfast you can walk the trail behind the restaurant to enjoy the beautiful view of edinburgh and look for the highland
Great friendly setting for family catch up meal, brilliant service, staff really cheerful and great rapport with the kids, food very tasty with lovely presentation, plenty gluten free options available Kid-friendliness: Very child orientated, menu, colouring pens/pictures on arrival, staff brilliant with kids Parking: Lots of free parking Dietary restrictions: Husband is coeliac so plenty of choice on menu available
