Beautiful, tranquil gardens, really well kept with lots of interesting areas to wander round and explore. We much admired the house and were sorry to be unable to visit at this time, perhaps another visit might provide the opportunity. A quiet and peaceful woodland walk provided the opportunity to stretch our legs and exercise enough so we felt able to indulge at the delightful cafe! Service here was excellent, great care being taken with hygiene and social distancing in a relaxed and friendly way. There is a small picnic area if you don't want to sample the delights of the cafe and a children's play area for safer times. We had a most enjoyable afternoon and will be happy to return before long.
This is a very interesting place to visit albeit the house itself is not open very often. The gardens were well kept and quite colourful Inside the house was a lot of history and interesting objects and the house history was very interesting to listen to. You can only go round the house with a guided tour not free moving.
Lovely place to visit, came with friends at the weekend..actually been a couple of times..Lovely gardens and fields to stroll around!

Beatiful gardens and manor. Filming location for Ann Walker manor in BBC serie Gentleman Jack.
Amazing piece of history and very welcoming staff. Maggie was a great host.
Great gardens and excellent service in the cafe light lunch and the best cheese scones with cakes to die for.
Brilliant CL site if you just want to chill out or walk through the forest. The stately home and gardens is lovely to visit but not always open so check first. Had a gorgeous Sunday lunch at Miss Daisy's today. Tasty, presentation beautiful, service 1st class. Thanks Hilary.
We had a tour of the house which was intetesting and amusing. The gardens were a delight. I would definitely recommend this stately home. Also I found it very reasonably priced. Opening for more than one month a year should enable more people to enjoy the house and garden. The photo of the house on the website does not represent the beauty of the garden.
Had a tour of the house with a very well informed guide. Lunch was sandwiches in the cafe and was very tasty and reasonable value for the money. Gardens are very pleasant and well worth the time to visit. To summarise a most enjoyable day.
