Although we had to change lanes 2 times as they stopped working, despite the dirt and grit, we had a very good time. Fun music and flashback to our teenage years. Visit with good friends for a good night out and don't get bothered about what doesn't works within, its part of the charm
Slightly run down and a little dingey but you always have the best night out at the palace Superbowl. Friendly staff and well stocked bar.
Now appears to be closed. When it was ooen... Bowling was cheap. Staff are friendly but stretched. Whole experience though was generally poor. Equipment was rubbish and broke often. Balls were terrible. Drink choice was limited.
This bowling alley is in desperate need for an upgrade, unfortunately the interior is sadly very off putting. Broken ceiling tiles above the lanes, the lanes themselves are mostly uneven and broken along with the bowling balls. Barriers have to manually be pulled up if you want to use them. Due to how run down the establishment is I believe it to be overpriced and not worth the money you pay. Unfortunately it is the same when it comes to the few arcade games they have available to play. Quite a few out of service or broken. Food and drinks for kids I believe are overpriced too. In regards to the food, Nothing of any quality just frozen food cooked on site and not very well either. Staff here were okay. Not very chatty but was helpful when I needed assistance setting up the lane. I honestly would recommend maybe paying a bit more and going somewhere like Surrey quays. As the whole experience is much better and seems more worth while for your money.
Place is pretty run down, ghastly smell and many arcades not working nor worth it. Bowling aisles are cheap though and they offer a good booze selection for cheap. Alright for a few rounds and drinks therefore. Must've been a great place in the past but lost the will to live.
We wanted a cheap and cheerful bowling alley so weren't expecting an All Star Lanes type experience whatsoever but this place was pretty dire! We made a booking for 6:30 and were in the queue for then, but it was so busy so by the time we actually got to the desk, it was way past our booking time. The woman behind the desk was fairly rude to us and said we were too late! Anyway, after arguing it out we managed to get a lane, but about 3 times there was a problem with the clearing of the pins so we had to take it in turns to go to the desk to sort this out - this took the fun out of it a bit and slowed down the game! People also kept stealing our balls! I won't be going back - the only thing that was good was the beer
Went here today with my friend and we really enjoyed ourselves. The staff were nice - in particular the woman who served us our food was absolutely lovely. The food was decent considering it was really cheap £4.20 for chicken nuggets & chips plus a can; and £2.80 for a decent-sized portion of chips. We played pool which was fun but apparently there’s a £5 deposit to borrow the cues but I didn’t have any cash so they let us not bother with the deposit. Bowling was reasonably priced and my student discount helped. Toilets weren’t exactly great – lock on the cubical was broken, one soap dispenser empty and the other fallen off the wall – but they did the job. Overall though it was a really pleasant experience and if I’m in the area again then I’ll most likely come back.
This place is pretty old, clearly hasn't been updated much in terms of decor since 1998, but who cares? The bowling alley works well, the food is delicious and cheap and so are the drinks, they have loads of arcade games and the staff are pretty friendly. If you're a pro bowler or something looking for somewhere super high tech and polished this isn't for you. But if you're part of the 95% of people who I imagine enjoy a fun, extremely casual night out then you'll have a fab time. Oh although if you have sensitive eardrums maybe bring some earplugs, sometimes the music is a bit too loud Curly fries 4 lyf!
A very tired establishment bit OK for a cheap night out if your standards are low. The machinery often doesn't work on my last visit, only 1 or our 2 lanes worked and then only intermittently. Drinks are, however, super cheap. Food is a bit grim so best avoided. Be aware that this can be quite an aggressive place so best to go in a group.
Great place! Yes, they have sticky floors. Yes, the walls need some fresh paint. But, staff are friendly and pushed to work hard. Running between check in, drinks, kitchen and arranging music. The price for the bowling is very good, especially sun-thu for the switch off deal. Overall, I rate it 5 stars - you'll either way accept it the way it is and enjoy your evening or go and pay a premium for some other bowling places in London.
