A few new tiles and a glass upper floor leading to the underground which is as clean as it was 40 years ago. Platform signage not the best. Seats are metal for comfort on a cold day. Greggs outside to welcome accidental tourists.
We went for an afternoon out in Sunderland to basically visit some pubs with real ale and have lunch. The experience was excellent. Much better than anticipated. Some fabulous bars which I have reviewed individually. Definitely worth a run out on a Tuesday afternoon if you like real ales. Fitzgerald's, or Fitzy's was a particular highlight and the Landlord was great.
NEIN, horrible platforms, dirty and full of nastiness which I don't want to sit around with. Don't even get me started of the empty upstairs. Alright interchange however.
Only got robbed twice so cannot give it a 5 star.
The train station is nice but could better with some ideas if possible
