We went for an afternoon out in Sunderland to basically visit some pubs with real ale and have lunch. The experience was excellent. Much better than anticipated. Some fabulous bars which I have reviewed individually. Definitely worth a run out on a Tuesday afternoon if you like real ales. Fitzgerald's, or Fitzy's was a particular highlight and the Landlord was great.
I recently went to catch a train at Sunderland It was cancelled so had to wait 70mts for next one The booking office was shut and ticket machine was out of order as was the metro machine The new entrance resembles an army barracks and there's not even a coffee shop or retail outlet I went to find a place for a coffee The centre and most shops were shut There were more empty and boarded up shops than open and I counted 12 charity shops and 5 pawn shops in 15mts Godforsaken dump
Shame on Tyne and Wear Metro. Whom, have branded themselves as safe and accessible way to travel for Sunderland Pride.nnSunderland metro station main entrance is closed. Back alley access. It is also unlikely to make my connection to coast line - nor could I quickly and efficiently plan my route inter- line. Ambiguous, elusive and stressful.nInterfered with my enjoyment of the night.
