I don’t normally write reviews as everyone can have a bad day, but this was pretty bad,, I’ve used the Sun King before and it’s been ok when I’ve ordered a few chips and basic food, this time I thought I’d order some traditional Chinese dishes, ordered a battered chicken Szechuan dish , beef in black bean and fried rice, rice was ok, chicken wasn’t battered but when we phoned back to say there was a mistake the girl said they didn’t do battered, she didn’t say anything at the time we ordered, food very bland, very little flavour and no fresh vegetables in any dish. Such a shame , as I feel I couldn’t use them again.
Absolutely disgusting fish not much bigger than a fish finger and 18 chips in a portion won't ever spend any money in here ever again. Had to take it back to the shop because of the portion sizes of two small portions, different sizes, and quality soggy chips and bird's-eye frozen fish, less than impressed by the owner putting the phone down on me twice. Then, calling me every name under the sun to her husband when I came in to sort a refund for the untouched food and 3 cans of soda, only one of which was correct coke is not Pepsi and dr-pepper is not Fanta. Sorry, Sun King we will not be back and can only hope you get better quickly.
I made a real mistake by not reading other reviews which were pretty amusing The food was not good at all. Chow mein is a dry dish, but mine was full of sauce, and not very nice sauce. The OK sauce was definitely not OK. And the fried rice was just about edible. On the plus side, the prices were not bad and the service was cold but efficient. Only use this place in an absolute emergency. Like when your taste buds don't work....
Lovely food here, nice and fresh, great service, I actually travel 11 miles to get my treat compared to already having 3 Chinese takeaways in my areaFood: 5/5
Dreadful food!!!! The worst and I mean WORST mushroom foo yung I've ever had! Its not like its even that difficult a dish to prepare! Salt and pepper chips tasted stale, my partners chicken chow mein, stale and inedible, curry sauce was vile and grey?! Never going again!!! I hope anyone who reads this heeds these words!!

I’ve used Sun king for a number of years but never again. My delivery turned up without the rice we ordered when I rang to complain the phone was abruptly put down on me! Then 30 minutes later the Rice arrived wifh no apology no nothing!Food: 1/5

Brilliant! We love this Chinese - the menu is huge and food delicious. The sweet and sour chicken is excellent and lots of meat content - not padded out with veg. Special combo starter is fantastic and great value We get food from here at least twice a month - everything you want from a Chinese!
I am a regular customer of the Sung King Takeaway and can highly recommend it to all. The staff are friendly and pleasant. The prices are fine and the food is gorgeous! The only downside is they do not deliver. UPDATE: Sun King do deliver now and although it is under different management than when I wrote the original review, the food is still excellent and I ama regular customer probably too regular.
