If I could give 0 stars I would. Booked an adapted caravan as soon as bookings were available, have been coming to this site for 15 years. Something happened to that caravan meaning we couldn't use it, fine, one of those things, but Park Holidays knew a disabled guest was coming who needed to be on that site to be able to reach the beach on the hired wheelchair mine is too big to bring and how important it was to do so for mental health reasons but instead moved us to the sister site Felixstowe Beach, which I'd also score 0 stars, and put us in a caravan we couldnt park near, which is made even worse when they thought my disabilities meant I couldnt use my legs at all, which is ridiculous and so thoughtless. They never asked about my needs neither, my Dad had to tell them the importance of different aspects of the origional booking any time he spoke to anyone. We came across only 1 pleasant member of staff and that was the maintenence man who sorted out the very dangerous steps to the caravan, which surprised him that they were allowed to be like that anyway, and relayed the slabs so there wasn't an inch lip to the path running across our area, which I tripped over a couple of times before being sorted, if he didnt do what he did I expect I'd have needed an ambulance at some point with how dangerous that set up was, thankfully he had an understanding of disability so went above and beyond for me with that. That's the only good thing done for us. They knew a disabled guest was being put in it and never thought to check it was safe. The path ran right in front of ours so we had no privacy and nowhere to sit and enjoy the sun. We hired a wheelchair so I could get to the beach steps by myself with my dog but with being moved site that became a lot of wasted money as I had to be driven everywhere in the end, but of course Park Holidays don't care about the money wasted because of them. The robotic reception staff also seemed to think we could magically change time booked off of work and reinstate carers again last minute to then cancel the booked holiday and book time off work and cancel carers and again at a time of their convenience when we would be able to be back on Suffolk Sands instead of the pit that is Felixstowe Beach, talk about no thought put into their answers to our complaint email, except a pathetic 10% return of the cost of the holiday. I've had a nightmare year with health issues and 2 months in hospital, this break is what gave me something to hold on to as I've always loved going to the beach but it was completely ruined by managers who have no care for equality for the disabled. My time was spent mostly trapped in the caravan as I couldn't take having to be driven everywhere, I could tell my body was struggling by the bruising I had for no reason other than being made completely run down by it all, it wasn't a holiday at all, in fact it was detrimental to my health in the end. If you're disabled steer well clear of this place and company, they don't care for the equality act 2010 for the disabled! Will not be holidaying with them again, its not like loyalty mattered to them anyway, they didn't keep their promise of the 15% reduction when booking again when we couldnt book until this January and I have it written and signed by staff that they will honor that with booking within 30 days being put off or control. They're just a bunch of greedy, uncaring, money hungry, rude people happy to put disabled guests in danger and don't care when they ruin the holiday for someone so desperate for it.nnEdit: Park Holidays, tried that and got nowhere except a measly 10% return on the cost of the holiday, which doesnt even make up for the 15% discount they said they would still honour when rebooking was made available when we left last year, you just send it to the parks involved and they just stick to a script, the staff dont give a single care to how they ruined our holiday and caused a lot of wasted money on extra fuel and the hire of a wheelchair that ended up pointless.
Quiet and peaceful day and night. We were in a Gold Star caravan which was ok. The 'matress' on the sofa bed was very thin offering no support to an adult. Shares amenities with it's neighbouring site 2 minutes up the road. Good base for exploring the local sights. The docks viewing point is well worth a visit.
Stayed here for a week Lovely weather and great location with our accommodation Shame it was spoilt by very inconsiderate people Dogs barking from early morning to late evening plus hasn't anyone got an idea about recycling here People are so ignorant and obviously can't read signage! Food waste thrown in the wrong bin lovely! plus today somebody has deposited a suitcase in the dry recycling bin More signage required and notices/email sent to owners making them aware of what their lets are doing to a lovely site Perhaps if Suffolk Sands were fined for not monitoring the recycling/refuse bins by the local authority they might pull their finger out and get things sorted a bit more From what I hear from people that live here permanently nothing ever gets sorted!!nRant over!
If you want to be woken throughout the night by extremely loud boy racers driving up and down the road next to the holiday park all night long then this is the place for you. Tired is not the word. People who say this place is peaceful must be deaf. I envy you.
