Story

The Studios at Glenthorne offers self-catering, serviced, studio apartments in a fine Victorian house. Each studio has a beautifully appointed modern kitchen with fridge, washing machine, microwave and convection oven, along with all of the crockery and cutlery you could want during your stay. Tea and coffee are complementary, along with shampoo, shower-gel and handwash. The Studios also have drying and ironing facilities.



The tasteful and relaxing self-catering studios have a double bed, a flat screen freeview TV with DVD, USB connection and HDMI (10 metre cable provided), as well as a comfy sofa bed and a dining table. WiFi access is free and reliable.



We also offer a bed and breakfast service: A delicious continental breakfast can be provided along with a packed lunch if desired. We even offer a shopping service. If you wish you can have eggs from our own free range rare breed hens, Gwyn, Dee, and Marigold.



We provide secure bike storage, as well as washing facilities for your bikes.

Very easy to find, easy to let yourself in with the door code and a very homely feeling.nnWe stayed in myfanwy room and was perfect and as described. Had everything as needed in the kitchen, and appreciated the fresh milk in the fridge and Welsh cakes nnWe accidently only booked for 1 guest, not 2, but Claire was really understanding and easily rectified.nWe actually stayed here in 2020 and only realised a few days before. We would easily stay again.nTown centre is only a 15-20min walk, where you'll also find Tesco.nnCouldn't recommend staying here enough!
This is a fantastic room, which includes everything that you would want or need, the owners cant do enough for you, this is by far the best accommodation in Merthyr.nParking is ok, there are always spaces in the road, which is a very safe quiet cul-de-sac. Bus connection right outside the building, or a 10-15 minute walk to the bus station or Train dependinghow fast you walk, it takes me exactly 10 minutes to get to the train station. Martyn
An amazing place to stay. The owner greeted us warmly when we arrived and offered some recommendations on places to eat. Our room was beautiful and we loved the welsh cakes waiting for us. Walking to the High Street where everything is was reasonably simple. If you’re a man in need of a haircut you certainly have several options to choose from walk the street and you’ll know what I mean. Highly recommended.
Brilliant! We were upgraded to a studio and it was so clean and beautiful. Lots of space and all of the things you might need. The little details like ear plugs in the bedside tables and a makeup remover cloth in the bathroom really made this feel like luxury. We even had fresh milk in our fridge when we arrived! I was worried about parking before we arrived but there was plenty of space on the roads. Would definitely recommend to anyone exploring the Brecon Beacons and I'm sure we'll come back the next time we're in that area.
This is the 3rd time I've stayed here. Always clean and comfortable. Quiet area. Lovely little extra items, bottled milk and water in the fridge and Welsh cakes. It is very close to the town centre. Just a little uphill, if walking there but an easy walk downhill going into town !
