"A beautiful pub just off the A361 in the picturesque village of Cranmore. With great beer, an extensive wine list and 1 or 2 bottles of spirits you won’t be short on choice. Speciality teas, coffees and hot chocolates are served all day. The food menu comprises of classic pub dishes and a few seasonal specials, making the most of the great local produce around us but please rest assured the ducks in the pond across from the pub are safe from chef’s menu!!Sundays are our favourite day with a cracking roast served from 12pm til 3pm. Families and dogs are more than welcome. Sam and the whole Strode Arms team can’t wait to look after you."

How lucky we are to have such a great pub on our doorstep. Welcoming, open fire, great service and fantastic food. Had the pleasure of being here for a midweek meal. Ate off a set menu, 3 courses for £21.50!!! An absolute steal, great tastes and quality. My one gripe is they can't pour a decent Guinness! The menu is GREAT I'll be back.
On the Cask Marque AleTrail, as all Wadworths taverns are and the main purpose of this reviewers visit. This pub would be worth a visit under any circumstances, affable staff, good food at a fair price and be hungry, portions are generous and the ale, well deserving of the Accreditation awarded. The setting, especially during a warm sunny day like on this visit, is rural tranquility. Opposite a duck pond in the centre of a village with buildings dating back to the 15th century. The pub itself, once a 15th century farmhouse, became a pub/tavern in the 18th. Its not an all-day-every-day establishment, so check their excellent website for opening times.
What a tremendous experience The Strode Arms provides. Have just visited the most lovely, quaint and picturesque pub. From the moment my family and I stepped into the pub we were greeted with such a warm and charismatic welcome. The new landlords have created such a cosy and relaxing environment, we felt at home within minutes of being present. They experience only then escalated further beyond our expectations as the food we ordered was exceptional. To put it plainly “it knocked our taste buds for six”. Would highly recommend this establishment for any occasion, whether that be a refreshing drink or a meal out. The Strode Arms caters for all! We have already arranged with family and friends to go back there next week.
We have dined at The Strode Arms many times over the last five years and never once been disappointed. It is our favourite local restaurant by far. The service is faultless and the cuisine is devine.
Went here for lunch today . The landlady made us very welcome the food was was really good , good portions and very nicely cooked. Apparently they are new to the pub and if today was anything to go by I can see this place being fully booked often . Thanks to the staff for making the experience and good one , we will be back again soon hopefully
Called in for dinner at the end of December after a flight to Bristol. The new owners and staff where fantastic with a lovely warm welcome and excellent food. As a local I’m so pleased to see this level of customer service and the new owners deserve to do well. To all the locals please support this pub as they deserve it. Looking forward to calling in soon.
Lovely pub in a perfect location opposite a picturesque duck pond. We were the first in the pub today 16.3.22, We were met by Kristian and his partner Sam who were very welcoming and who informed us had recently taken over this pub. The food menu was was varied and not too many options that can sometimes mean frozen ready meals and poor quality. We opted for the chicken supreme option served with mushrooms cabbage and dauphinoise potatoes. It was well cooked and good quality and in my opinion priced about right for the standard. We followed that with desserts that were just as good. I would highly recommend this pub for a visit with its friendly staffand good food and will visit shepton mallet again to return in the summer to hopefully enjoy a meal on the outside terrace.
Excellent Sunday lunch good menu very efficent Friendly staff. If in the area again will pay another visit.
Just had an amazing Sunday lunch here - the roasts are outstanding. Warm, friendly pub with nice atmosphere & great service!
