We had the pleasure of having our winter wedding reception at The Manor House Inn in December and I can’t thank Sally and her team enough for the time and effort they put into preparing and hosting us on the day. Sally was so welcoming right from the start and was always happy to sit down and discuss details with us at the drop of a hat. We hired the old skittle alley free of charge! for our party of 40 and the team prepared a 3 course menu for us. Every dish on the day was totally divine - we had so many comments from guests about how delicious it was! Sally discussed our colour scheme/ideas beforehand and prepared the room exactly to our liking, with her own artistic spin and it looked absolutely gorgeous. Sally & Ellie & her daughter were incredible hosts on the day and were always there to help. Thank you so much to all involved for making it such a stress-free, special & memorable evening… and for putting up with our drunken singing in the small hours!
Amazing room above a traditional pub. Great service and a really good breakfast at a brilliant price. We particularly liked waking up to the sound of the horses walking past. About 7ish The location is in a village approx a 10minute drive from Castle Cary and also from the A37. Rooms: Room was clean and spacous. Food & drinks: Breakfast was really good and included in the room price.
So my partner booked this place as just a few miles away from longleat. Very disappointed with this place with cleansiness of rooms. we got put in one room which hadn't been cleaned girl said will clean and change sheets but then they gave us another room well it was just as bad. bathroom dirty, glasses been rinsed out. used tissues and water bottle under beds, because the girl said about changing sheets we had a look and single bed had pubic hairs in, curtains hanging just about, dust everywhere, spiders, cobwebs, net curtain torn, top of wardrobe really dirty. gap around outside door so bad. I feel cleansiness for rooms are not of a good standard at all. In the Inn itself staff friendly and welcoming, lovely atmosphere, got told got new chef and the evening meals were so lovely and hot, the breakfast was also lovely. this is situated in a quiet place which driving from different directions is lovely. I would like to give 10/10 for food and hospitality but 01/10 for cleansiness.
Best pub in the county. Super friendly staff, great food, cosy fireplace, real beer, lovely locals, and fun events such as the quiz on Thursday.
Classic village pub which has a distinctive architectural style, which is reflected inside too, especially in the dining area. Butcombe beers. Worthwhile to head to for a leisurely drink or meal.
Huge fan of the Manor, feel so lucky it's basically our local! We love the pub quizzes on a Monday evening 8pm start, food is fantastic, and Sally is a legend. Kudos to the new chef who used her grandmother's recipe to create the best cannelloni I've ever had. A cosy traditional pub with bags of character!
Sadly the room would of failed on hygiene inspection . If rooms be clean satisfactory stander would got 4/5 As chef brilliant, pub lovely surroundings good . Drastic fail on room cleaning un changed bedding and knew about it just wrong . Refund is required on room , take money out of severance wage from termination of cleaner .you have have great business there .if points here adopted . .
It was the chefs first day when we booked and I have to say the food is amazing and the place was lovely. Staff were very friendly and service was excellent. I will be recommending this place and will most definitely eat there again when we are back.
Only had a coffee, but the service was great and a wonderful, friendly atmosphere in a country pub
Came in today with my family for Sunday lunch. Service was fantastic, polite friendly and attentive. Then the food came, outstanding. We had beef, chicken a nut roast. Quality ingredients. Everything was home made. We had a lovely chat with the landlady who was so welcoming. Fantastic food Fantastic staff and owners Fantastic building Very well priced. I will most definitely come back here again. Keep up the good work.
