The ladies at Story of My Dress are brilliant - caring, thoughtful and talented! They have incredible attention to detail in designing and crafting the most perfect dress. It was an absolute dream to wear and I received so many compliments. Thank you, Cara and Gill, for being so welcoming and caring from the first appointment back in 2019 through to collection in July of this year - I loved the experience!

From start to finish, searching for and buying my dress from Story Of My Dress was the most memorable and magical experience. So much so that I would drive a four hour round trip each time to visit, across 3 years. The whole team are so attentive and are truly immersed in each of their beautiful brides journeys, from how they met their partner to plans for the Big day to hen do celebrations, they genuinely care so much, you will leave feeling like you have gained new besties. At my first 1 to 1 appointment, the gorgeous Sammy helped me into each dress until we found the perfect one for me. I also ordered one of their signature, personalised embroidered cathedral length veil which had our wedding date on. I left with such excitement and anticipation for our day, and came back a few weeks later to be measured for my dress by the lovely Gill, their inhouse seamstress. Gill is the most warm, genuine beauty who will put you at such ease. Unfortunately, as with most, we postponed several times due to covid. The store owner, Cara, kept in contact with me throughout what was a stressful time for me and her other brides but undoubtedly the most stressful time for her also. She was so kind and considerate. When restrictions finally lifted, and our wedding was finalised for September 2021, I visited Cara and Gill for my final fitting. My dress fitted perfectly and Cara grabbed my veil that I had bought 2 years prior and put it in place, she swung me round and as I looked in the mirror there it was... our September 2021 date embroidered on my veil. She had arranged for the veil to be unstitched and redone with our third and final date, Gill, Cara, my bridesmaid and myself were all in tears at how perfect it was and I will never forget how that thoughtful act by the team made me feel. My dress was so well made, and truly unique, I felt so beautiful on my wedding day. Cara is so talented, and I would recommend STOMD in a heartbeat to anyone and everyone. I had such a great dress shopping experience at SOMD. It is such a beautiful shop with so many stunning dresses. I absolutely loved my dress and still do! and felt so comfortable in it because it was made specifically for me. Thank you so much to Cara, Gill and Sammy for making me the perfect dress!

I cannot recommend Story of My Dress highly enough. I was really nervous about wedding dress shopping and this was the only shop I went to because it was all I needed! From start to finish Sammy and Cara were so very kind and made me feel amazing. They were so patient with me whilst I made some changes to my dress, and Gill is such an incredibly talented seamstress, who managed to work her magic to alter my dress in the final weeks. The whole team seemed to genuinely care about me and did not stop until my dress was perfect, and I felt incredible on the day. They even looked after my baby whilst I went to move my car!! What more could you ask for?! Thank you so much ladies, I am so so grateful.

I really recommend Story of My Dress Bridal!! I was looking for something very specific which I couldn’t find anywhere - a pearl tulle cape to attach to my wedding dress. With only 2 weeks to go until my wedding they were able to make this to measure for me. Sammy and the team were wonderful, so helpful, friendly and made exactly what I was looking for xxx

What an amazing bridal shop and an amazing bunch of ladies. Cara, Sammy and Gill are incredible and do everything to make sure your dress is absolutely perfect. I was very teary after collecting my dress knowing I wasn't going to see these ladies again. The dresses themselves are beautiful and like nothing you will find anywhere else. I wish I was getting married all over again so I could go back and try them all on! Thank you!

I had a wonderful experience at Story of My Dress. Ashleigh was so friendly and enthusiastic. Her expertise meant I was able to create the custom dress of my dreams. My first experience of a bridal shop was at SOMD and it was perfect! The atmosphere is relaxed and Ashleigh was really really helpful. I went back a few weeks later with more ideas and we ended up drawing up my dream dress. I can’t wait to return for my fittings and to see the final product : Would highly recommend to any brides - especially anxious shoppers like me!

Nothing but 5 star on everything! The team at Story Of My Dress are so wonderful, welcoming, calm and kind. I tried out a few dress shops before coming here and didn't have the most pleasant of experiences. I am a plus size girl and was really worried about dress shopping, although there isn't a huge range of plus size dresses on the rail at SOMD they do have some and were very open about this at the initial enquiry. Regardless of that Cara, the owner, was really welcoming and accommodating and re-assured me that I would still get a lot of out of the initial fitting and it did not disappoint. Everything that SOMD make is beautiful, and made with care and love, the dress makers made me feel so comfortable when getting my measuring and made so many personable alterations and changes to the dress i.e. the fabric, length, extra fabric in certain places and personal embroidery on the cuff. Special shout of to Ashley who was there for my first appointment helped me pick out styles and really listening to what I was looking for unlike other stylists I had been to. My whole bride tribe fell in love with Ashley too! I cannot wait to see the final finished dress and it will be the most special piece of clothing I own for the rest of my life and I know all the lovely ladies who have been part of making it happen will be held dear to me, thank you so much SOMD!

I had such an lovely experience with Story of My Dress. Great selection of dresses with loads of options to suit everyone, as well as their own ranges which are beautiful and customizable. Ashleigh was so warm and kind on my visit and made me feel really comfortable, and even sketched up an idea we had of combining features from two dresses together which was so helpful to see. I haven’t ended up getting my dress from here, but it was such a close second - I’m even sad not to be going back and spending more time there as it’s such a cool, inspiring, welcoming environment! Thank you to everyone at SOMD, I would 100% recommend this lovely studio to anyone looking for their dress.
