Yesterday we met one of the sales guy at Toyota in Crawley. initially he seemed professional and attentive. He asked some good qualifying questions to understand our needs and mentioned that because it was a Toyota event, he would be able to offer us a deal if we made a decision that day. We informed him that we are cash buyers working with a budget of and were specifically looking for a car no older than two years.nWe were shown one car and were quoted a price £750 above our budget… which was allegedly the price of the car. He then conceded a £250 discount “that the best” he could get from his manager… fair enough… we said we’d sleep on it rather than pay a £500 deposit straight away. When back at home we ran a search and discovered that the price for this car on the company website was c.£100 lower than the “negotiated price”…nThis discrepancy and the high-pressure sales tactics used are, quite frankly, dishonest and unprofessional. Such practices are not what I expected from a reputable franchise like Steven Eagell Toyota. I do not want to disclose the name of the salesperson as I think this is endemic in this place and orders come from the top… we went elsewhere…
Currently having a nightmare with the Gatwick branch. Have bought cars from them for about 10 years now. Since they changed hands recentlyish the customer service, both sales and repairs has gone completely downhill.nBought our last car from them in March, had to bring it in literally the next day with a fault. It went for a service on Friday, we told them that the fault from when we purchased had reoccurred and asked if they could sort it. Despite the car being ready an hour after we were told it would be, the fault hadn't been resolved and had been given a big green check mark, like there was nothing wrong. I emailed and used the messaging app to contact them, but got nothing back. If you call they're aways too busy to deal with you, so the only way to get through is email. Today, only a week from when it was serviced, the whole system has gone bang. Cant brake, park, drive - absolute nightmare. Again called Toyota to be told after 20m waiting that everyone is too busy to speak to me. Nice. Take your money elsewhere folks!nI've also noticed that the same stock reply is cut and pasted under any negative reviews, please don't bother. I'll contact Toyota directly.
I recently purchased an Aygo X Edge from here and I'm so happy with the car, and the service I received from the garage. The whole process was smooth and effortless, the staff were friendly, professional and very helpful. It's the best experience I've ever had buying a new car. Really excellent garage and fantastic cars. Highly recommended!
