This is a lovely little pub for a relaxed drink and some food. The entrance doesn't look very inviting but inside, it's warm and cosy with a nice atmosphere. I'd be wary of ordering the seabass though. We went a few days into their new menu launch and it was awful, flavourless and without half of the ingredients advertised in the menu.
Great friendly pub popped in for curry night and stayed for the quiz , staff were very friendly food was lovely and value for money , and the quiz was so much fun will hope to come back soon thanks everyone at the star for a cracking evening
Dropped in for a meal and a couple of beers. Food was fine and selection of real ales very good. I opted for Black Sheep which was in very good form. My 4* probably equates to most people's 5* which would apply to the staff, very friendly and obliging. Well done the Star.
Very nice food & drinks and friendly staff.
Used to go here years ago, things have definitely improved. Had a chicken dinner there Sunday and it was amazing. All homemade, great pub garden with 2 large TVs for when it's nice out. Well be back
Just had a beef dinner, £10.29 I think I've had my pants pulled down. Shop bought stuffing, Yorkers and two slices of meat, Oh and chef," try using salt in your veg " No return visit I'm afraid. Sorry better places around at a cheaper price.
Decent pub and outdoor area! Not had food so can't comment but menu looked decent! Remember to register your car at the bar for the carpark otherwise expect a fine!
Outside area needs a bloody good clean up. Could be a great area, didn't see any staff out there for the entire time we were in. Barman was very nice and went to get me a drink from the cellar. Service good. Just got the feeling that team work is lacking.
Me and my partner are new to the area and recently tried out our local. Absolutely amazing, the food was fantastic. I had the 8oz steak medium and it was spot on. My partner had the mixed grill and again it was spot on. Very good portions at a very reasonable price. The staff where lovely. A great way to spend our year anniversary
I visited the Star at the end of June for lunch. Food fine etc. I have now just received a £100 parking fine for entering and exiting their car park. I drove past permit only spaces on the way to a legitimate space. The car's shadow has triggered a photo and I'm not even in the space. My 90 year old Aunt was also fined on the same day for pulling into one of these spaces for less than a minute whilst working out where to park. Loads of hassle now to appeal. Shame on you Star. Will never visit this pub again.
