I think previous reviews must be for a different place. I went yesterday and had a great time. There were no problems with the lanes as far as I could see, quite a few were in use by families. We were there for about 2 hours and had no problems. To be fair it was a bit chilly but we soon warmed up playing. The staff were really nice and helpful, the toilets were spotless. You could have bowling shoes if you wanted them. The kids also enjoyed playing the other games after bowling.
If it was as bad as suggested in other reviews I can only assume the current staff have really improved the place because it isn't now so well done them.

Went for a game on my son's 8th birthday. The place was freezing. We all had to keep our coats on. There was scaffolding on one of the lanes and loads of rubbish piled up on another lane. Kid bumpers only worked on one lane in the whole place. Toilets were filthy. The whole place is run down. Will not be returning.

Falling apart... Balls got stuck about every frame. Bumpers were either up or down for everyone and not selectable even though selectable, half the video games don't work, water buckets everywhere, 10p stuck in the slots, air hockey powered by an asthmatic person using a straw... People very friendly and maintenance men very busy but got a smile!! Fun but not in the way intended!!

This place has. Really gone. Down hill. The bar is bad the beer is either flat or taste like pipe. Cleaner. The toilets are filthy and part destroyed. Arrogant staff some of them anyhow and attracts a crowd of anti social kids after about 6pm. It's really. Gone downhill here and we won't be returning

Honestly you are better off staying at home than wasting your time or money on this place.

Staff are rude and useless. They stand talking between themselves whilst you are waiting to be served. 

Bowling lanes are old and are not waxed. The screens are out of Beamish.

Soft play is for age 3-10 but is tiny and your kid won’t last 5 minutes there. Note that adults are not allowed in so you just hope you can see your child to supervise at all times.

Place is smelly and unclean
