Lovely weather and lovely place for spending time with friends and celebrate wedding anniversary! Watching the pictures you can see how much I liked it! We asked for small portions of fish and chips as we consider that for adults that is enough! Tasty beers and beverage selection and great champagne ! We’re back to taste the pork chops! We have had fun! Thank you for the service!
Friendly and buzzy traditional family pub. Took the family for a belated mother's day lunch. Despite arriving early for our booking we were met with a warm welcome and quickly found a clean table. Rachel, our waitress, was friendly and helpful. Making sure we knew what was on the menu, and which beers were on draft. We ordered the kids burgers 3 and got one steak & chips and one adult plant burger. As seems to be the habit of Hall & Woodhouse kitchens, the steak was a little over cooked medium rare requested. But it was a good cut of meat and perfect portion size. The kids had the sorbet and ice creams that come with the kids meals - they do a good job of looking after the little ones, although there's nothing to entertain them in the beer garden, if you're coming on a sunny day. Total bill for 5, including a few leisurely drinks in the garden, was less than £20. Great value for the food and service.
Personally, I like the atmosphere. Staff was friendly yet not in your face. We were only i the area 4 days but managed to hit the pub 4 times. Had Mother's Sunday lunch. I selected the roast beef dinner and seriously wish I chose something different. Beef was chewy with a lot of grizzle, potatoes seemed quite dry. The yorkshire was splendid. All this did not deter me from returning later in the evening for another pint.
Such a lovely and welcoming pub. Food was great and just what we needed after a long day travelling. Steak was done to perfection. We made a reservation and they were really accommodating when we asked to move to a different table as we had two dogs, one who is large lab who is anxious so we requested to move more into the corner. All the staff were really friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Wine selection was great too! I would reccomed booking, as it does get very busy, which is very easy via the website.
Good atmosphere. Attentive staff. My wife did not enjoy her roast beef, but my fish dish was great. Good idea to book, popular with locals and visitors to nearby campsite. Hosts local events, there was an upcoming classic car meet.
Great varied menu for a New Years Day meal with family. Staff were courteous and friendly, and didn't rush us at all. Food was very good and a reasonable price. Don't have anything negative to say about this place. Recommend booking for sure.
First time we've visited here. Everything was spot on. Very covid secure with one way system around the pub in place. We sat in the garden at the front of the pub and managed easily to order and pay for food and drinks by scanning the QR code on the table. Food was delicious and service was excellent. Thank you to all concerned. We will definitely return next time we are in the area.
My wife and I decided to dine out on Friday evening. We didn't want to travel far from home in Oakdale, so made a booking for 6pm. I looked at reviews on eating in the St Peters Finger. A few recent mixed opinions made me think I may have made a mistake. Not the case though. The food was excellent, Beer was great and all the Staff were lovely. We will return soon. Unfortunately you can't please everyone.
Great service, helpful and very friendly staff. Menu a little limited but is quality. Steak was nicely cooked to preference but seemed to be covered in pepper which isn't for everyone. Really nice place though, enjoyed it and we would recommend.
Nice country pub with plenty of parking. Got in early at lunch time and it was quiet, so choice of tables. There was a roaring fire and friendly staff. Had a cauliflower hummus and beetroot cob and a pint of best. It was all very nice.
