A faith community of Christians based in south/ central Birmingham. Emphasis is on the teachings of Christ and the writings of St. Augustine of Hippo.

Story

St. Mary's is a Roman Catholic community situated in Harborne, Birmingham. The parish is being ministered by the Augustinian friars, who have been resident since the mid 1970's, for the Archdiocese of Birmingham.
Over 1000 people regularly attend the church on a Sunday for mass. The parish has a very active lay community who bring great riches to all with their ethnic diversity and outstanding abilities.
We are graced by great musicians and a highly regarded choir who regularly get invited to events outside the parish. There is also a very active art group who put on regular exhibitions for the parish community.
There are also very strong and committed catechetical groups who instruct children, parents as well as enquirers to the faith. All sacramental teaching is done through the church.
CAFOD have a strong presence in the parish, once a month the bible study group meet and on Wednesday the charismatic prayer group in the priests chapel.
The first Friday of the month mothers and toddlers meet for a few hours in the parish centre and Credo and the SVP meet regularly
All people are welcome to the church, many non-Catholic parents join their children when celebrating their faith.
