St Margaret's House is a hub for artistry and creativity. I go here for community art classes offered by Leith School of Arts. I the classes. The building is quite accessible, there's disabled parking bays at the rear entrance and on that same level there's a good accessible bathroom. I found it a bit challenging to open the back door and can imagine it would be nearly impossible for someone using a wheelchair to open that door without assistance.
Natural Health Clinic is based here and I have regular acupuncture. The car park is in sad need of attention, but the clinic I attend is nicely set out. I cannot comment about other areas of the building, apart from Gemma Sargent who has expertly altered outfits for my son's wedding a few years ago in her lovely studio.
We went to see an exhibition. It is a fantastic building, laid out to accommodate so much!
Good place for artistic activities. I like a climat of this building.
Fantastic place! lovely atmosphere! Everyone is very friendly! So many fabulous creative people in one place! Excellent location for public transport! Also has parking at evenings & weekends! So many activities! Love Vox Stars new singing home!
I am partially disabled and have difficulty with steep stairs. Unfortunately the street entrance to the building is down some quite awkward steps c20 of them. However, the artists inside are wonderful people and we saw a couple of brilliant exhibitions there.
It's fine for what it it is, art studios and gallery spaces. The lifts are slow to arrive and clunky. It's improving, I remember thinking it was dark and delapidated a few years back, the lighting has improved and it doesn't have quite such a brown interior nowadays.
I went here for a photo shoot and the building seems to be leg it to various businesses its seems like a great community hub and seems to offer affordable rent for small businesses and groups in the city centre the area we used was clean and tidy and easy to access with lifts etc
Definitely one of the better venues in Edinburgh and some great exhibitions. Right now they have the Grays school of art painting pre degree show, something I'd highly recommend. If you are looking to have an exhibition you can contact them and book one of the spaces as well
An amazing place full of creatives. Always interesting exhibits on, great events, a lovely social scene and I always make use of the swap shop. A great idea and lovely addition to the area.
