Very nice monument where you can see a nice view of Princess Street and the Old Town.
The views from here are awesome. Gives you a great 360 degree view of the city and helps get your bearings on places. The walk up is not too strenuous, depending on how fit you are. I'm not super fit but walk a lot and didn't get puffed just walking at a steady pace. It's well worth the walk.
Wow!! I've been visiting Edinburgh regularly for 20 years and while I've been to Calton Hill before, never made it up the monument until yesterday. What a view! Breathtaking. Beautiful. Awe-inspiring. Absolutely worth the entrance fee and there aren't really that many stairs!
One of the best spots overlooking the city.
The well maintained monument has an exhibition on the main floor, but you can also go up in the tower and enjoy a beautiful view of the city and the surroundings. While going up you can already see the beautiful city though the windows, but the view from the tower top is just breathtaking.
You could enjoy a scenic view of Edinburgh. Do not miss the opportunity to visit this place. The whole area of Calton Hill is very beautiful.
A nice walk around the monument on a foggy morning
Didn't go up but the walk up Carlton Hill and the view was stunning. I can only imagine it gets better if you climb the monument!
