My children both attend St John's and they and I all love the school. I see a couple of reviews on here seem a little out of date or mischievous. My children are both extremely happy and since the arrival of girls, the school has become even better. We couldn't be happier about the choice of this school. The behaviour is excellent, the pastoral care exactly what I want from a school and the new Head seems to have hit the ground running. I would thoroughly recommend St John's.

If you asked any pupils or staff who had Mr Collier as a headmaster they would say he was rude, unfair and most of all a bully. When i was there, I experienced some pupils not being let back into 6th Form because of finanical problems, who achieved all the grade requirements and contributed hugely to the school. Of course St Johns is fee paying school so of course this seems fair, but the school also has a strict principle that if students don't acheive the GCSE grade requirements they wont be able to attend St Johns for 6th. Yet many sporting pupils WERE being let back in (who didn't get at all close to the 6th form grade requirements), these sporting students were instantly let back in to the school under Mr Collier, they had a huge bias towards sporting pupils and if you weren't sporty then they wouldnt care less about you. In my eyes St Johns was a very corrupt and unfair school system, i felt sorry for the pupils (and my friend) who contributed hugely to the school and were disregared as soon as they couldnt afford it. Compared to the many pupils who were instantly let back in under Mr Collier because they were sporty. But i guess thats just how public schools work these days.

Fabulous school offering a first class education. My sons never looked back from the moment they arrived. Not only did my sons achieve better results than anticipated but they enjoyed every minute. The school's pastoral care was second to none and their subsequent success in their careers and development as kind, thoughtful and caring individuals I ascribe totally to their housemasters and to the general ethos of the school. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Commenting on the post by 'Lily White'. I do not get involved or give credence to social media rantings but I am so incensed reading the post by 'Lily White' that I feel compelled to add a balancing address. Whoever has taken the time to post this defamation in such a public manner should be utterly ashamed of themselves. Whether a past employee, parent or pupil, it is beyond immature and you need to grow up. Whoever you are, St John's school is better off without you and, one day, you will see the error of your ways and be rightfully ashamed of your actions. By all means have an opinion, but to air it publicly, in this manner, only reflects badly on you, no one else. A lesson to you; learn how to communicate maturely and have respect for others and yourself. By all means stand up and own your opinion but communicate [your own] views privately. Your comments here are not constructive. The internet is a powerful tool and the best invention of our time. Use it wisely, not to bring shame on yourself. Our children are pupils at St John's. They are happy, confident, successful, have respect for others and, importantly, know how to behave. Being the captain of a ship and the decision making process that goes with running a ship does not always make you popular. Do not judge until you stand in their shoes and if it's not right for you, go find another ship.

St John's is an excellent school, providing a high level of education, pastoral care and a wide range of opportunities. The teaching staff are enthusiastic and the facilities are great. I have two children who currently attend the school and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an all-round education for their children.
