My grandchildren joined the school in September 2018 and have settled in really well, making new friends. They enjoy going to school and find it very caring, friendly and supportive. It's not easy starting a new school but the staff and children have been really welcoming; being a small school with a 'family' ethos really helps.
My two children have been at the school since they each turned 2. They are happy, settled and thriving. Each and every child is treated as an individual and the staff go out of their way to get to make sure the children are doing the best that they possibly can. The number of clubs and experiences offered to the children is brilliant and the school has a friendly, family feel to it. My children love it here
During my all too brief time at Saint James' I have experienced undoubtedly the best level of education of it's kind. The staff are 100% committed to their students going above and beyond any state education equivalent, many of them frequently coming in over the weekend to run extra revision classes or staying late on an evening. The support the staff provide is overwhelming, extending many opportunities and extracurricular activities simply not offered at any equivalent school in the area to all students of all abilities and interests. Due to the close knit nature of the school I have gotten to know the majority of the school community and met many approachable fellow students whose friendships I'm sure will last a lifetime.
Our daughter is having the best experience at St James' School. She is learning not only about English, Maths, or other subjects but about life which is most important. Individual teaching and care is real in this school with lots of afection for students that makes them feel confident in what they do and their future.
I have been a student at Saint James School since I was in year 7. I am now a member of the Sixth Form. During my years at Saint James School there have been ups and downs - no school is perfect and every school has its difficulties. In my case, my positive experiences have outweighed any negative experiences that I have had. The teachers are, on the whole, caring and good individuals. The school worked hard to make sure that I did as well as I possibly could in my GCSE Exams and where the school could have done better, they admitted fault and worked to improve themselves. I am able to participate in a variety of extra curricular activities through both house activities which are held during the school day and also through after school activities such as golf, tennis, sailing. Overall I am happy here. The Sixth form is small and personalised and I am in a leadership role which the senior management and staff take a sincere interest and help me to develop my leadership skills.
Both my children who are currently in the Pre Prep and Prep school have been at the school since they were 2. They have both developed and grown so much under the care of the school. To have happy children go to school every day is the biggest relief a parent can have. All the staff are supportive and approachable and we wouldn't have them anywhere else.
St James is a friendly, warm and inviting school. The facilities are excellent and the boarding house team provide first class pastoral care to its boarders
When I moved to the UK, coming here definitely made me feel at home. The people were so nice to me there and I've made lifelong friends. Not to mention got a great education as well. Definitely a great school.
St James' is a warm and welcoming school, with a real focus on kindness and support. This is an environment where children settle well and are happy.
Lovely, friendly small independent school. The boarding house team are fantastic.
