St Gregory the Great Catholic School

Story

St Gregory the Great Catholic School is a mixed Roman Catholic all-through school with academy status, located in Cowley, Oxfordshire, England. It is one of only two state-funded Catholic schools offering secondary education in that county, the other being Blessed George Napier Roman Catholic School in Banbury. The previous executive principal John Hussey, joined the school as acting headteacher in 2008. He later was appointed to the role of permanent headteacher in the spring term of 2009. The school converted to academy status in April 2013, and became the lead school in the Dominic Barberi Multi-Academy Company a month later. The Dominic Barberi Multi-Academy Company is now composed of seven Catholic schools in south Oxfordshire. St Gregory the Great is the only secondary school. They include: St Gregory the Great Catholic All-Through School, Oxford St Thomas More Catholic Primary School, Kidlington St John Fisher Catholic Primary School, Oxford Our Lady's Catholic Primary School, Oxford St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Thame St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Carterton Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary School, Witney In September 2013, the school became an all-through school, with pupils ranging from the ages of 4 to 18. However, the primary school only consists of foundation, year one and year two at this time. Dr McCarthy was appointed as Principal in 2015.Funding for New BuildingsUntil funding for the new buildings was finalized in 2006, the school existed on two sites: the Cardinal Newman Middle School on Cricket Road, and St Augustine's, Iffley Turn, Oxford. However, after receiving a £20,000,000 grant from the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham, the current buildings were built. Work began in March 2014 on the adjacent former Cricket Road Centre to convert it into the school's new primary school, for children aged 4–11.

this school has banned year 11 running or fast walking at break or lunch time. if a year 11 is spotted fast walking they would get a detention or they would miss there break and lunch.

My friend almost got seriously injured when another student tried to fight him. My friend is now at Oxford Spires Academy which is where you should be.

This school is so rubbish. I have been in that school for 2 years. I have been bullied so many times and no one has done anything about it still getting bullied. My parents have said that I learn more at home then at school. Most of the teachers there are so rude and treat you like dirt. I once got a detention for doing nothing and I have been shouted at some many times for doing nothing I was doing my work one day and the teacher started shouting at me because I was talking but I didn't say nothing. Also the headteacher always says that we are the issue here and we keep missing behaving but we haven't done anything wrong. I love it how this school always goes against the students and never listens to use. I remember when the school had a low review and the school just blamed it on use when the review was about the school not use. Also they never clean the school now the school is infested with spiders I can't remember what type and they are infested with ants. Also they have band Jumpers and Hoodys because they think it will make are education bad when that's not the problem and now they are making use wear trousers with the logo on that looks ridiculous by the way and a skirt. I have to say that this school has been bad since they got this headmistress and if the school wants to get better then get a new headteacher because this one is just ridiculous.

Shockingly bad, safeguarding of children is literally non existent. Anything that they say they will do is never carried out. Senior staff are rude and demeaning to parents and children. Removed my child and have reported to appropriate bodies!
