Story

The Practice was formed in April 1996 by amalgamating the existing practices for Dr Wheeldon & Partners and Dr H R Cleverley & Partners. Both practices were already based at St Anne's Surgery, they had both stemmed from practices that had moved to St Annes in 1974 when it was the first purpose built surgery in the town. The surgery now looks after nearly 15,000 patients at St Anne's and the branch surgeries at Beltinge and Greenhill.

Before Covid and all these new builds were built, I had no issue getting an appointment. My son had an infection and needed antibiotics, so I was told to go to urgent care. Urgent care queen Vic is so lovely. They gave my son antibiotics and I was advised he needs a check up with GP following a course of antibiotics in accordance with NICE guidelines which they are obliged to follow. 6 weeks later still no appointment for my son. Might go live on the moon
No appointments on app since before Christmas , no e consult available till Monday, no pre bookables either. . Really bad service. Why are there no locum doctors available there? Really disappointed and angry.
Standards have really slipped at this surgery, previously my partner and i have seen Dr Ho who has been excellent. However, we have recently had a premature baby and the care we have received for him and my partners postnatal care has been abysmal. During her postnatal check they did not cover even half of what they should of. They are completely unwilling to do anything and avoid prescribing medicines they should be as if their life depended on it both partner and baby are entitled to free prescriptions but instead tell you to go and buy it yourself at the pharmacy.
Useless. I should have had some test results back after 7 days, 17 days after the test and 11 days after this surgery were sent the results from the lab, they are still saying they don't have the results. This is the 2nd time this has happened now, they just lose everyone's results! Absolutely shocking place.
I've had several telephone consultations with DR's from St Annes in the last 3 months. I've always been phoned by the doctors incredibly quickly. I rang at 8am this morning to book a consultation, the receptionist got me booked in and the doctor rang at 9am. My prescription was ready at Bornos Chemist not long after. This is a fantastic service, especially during the current Covid pandemic.
Too many negative reports so had to post! Been ill with a 'highly resistant' water infection and Crystal pharmacist has been brilliant along with the doctors. I had numerous phone calls right up to 8pm trying to race results through to ensure I was given the correct medication and Dr Ho even managed to book me an appt at the hospital the following day, a Saturday! Cant thank you all enough! Have never had an issue with this practice in 14 years!
If I could give 0 stars I would… Rude receptionists not once, but many times, doctors telling me to go on Google to search my symptoms, they giving me wrong results for medical exams… the list goes on… will be changing surgery soon, and I definitely don’t recommend.
If there was an option for zero stars I would of chose that one. Absolutely disgusting service, never able to make an apoappointa and when you eventually do I get a rude receptionist on the other end asking if it is urgent as they hardly have any appointments left, although when I was there at 10.00 there was people still booking appointments that were available so when I said well I've been waiting a few days to get the appointment she huffed down the phone and rudely gave me the appointment. An hour went by in the surgery to see a 5 year old that has school on the day. It took an hour to get seen, but yet if we are 5 minutes late your not allowed to get seen. And absolute joke. Also a doctor I have seen here had no clue what was wrong with me, had to walk out and talk to another doctor then Google symptoms and have me medicine and said that should help, not knowing a cause , no name whatsoever. Also had mocked my partner when she said she has trouble swallowing tablets. The service is absolutely disgusting! Do not recommend!
Rude receptionists who couldn't be any less helpful if they tried Almost impossible to get an appointment. Abysmal communication, fail to contact you over routine appointments that they should be booking you in for. When you contact them, the rude receptionists just tell you that they will contact you even though the appointments are overdue. Avoid.
