Went into Eastleigh to visit a specialist sports shop who were unexpectedly closed early on NYE. Visited sports direct who were open the expected hours and received really good customer service and walked away with my new pair of running shoes.
The teenagers they employ on the tills are extremely rude and act like they don't want to be at work. When I worked in retail and hospitality I put as much effort as I could in. Better training and recruitment needed pronto.
Sports Direct where the products are piled high and the prices are low. Everything is very good value too good which really does make you question is everyone in the chain being paid a fair wage love to think they are but highly doubt it. This is a good size store easy to navigate round, and in general the staff are helpful and friendly although I can't say any of them look like they really love their job or actually want to be there At one point on a recent visit I waited so long that I thought I had gone to the Hard Rock Cafe in London! One member of staff serving and another folding clothes totally understand that clothes need folding, but not sure that is something that should take place at the till, gives a poor customer service impression in my eyes. Was also lovely to hear the staff slagging off the customer who had made a comment about waiting the very ugly side of human nature, fairly sure we all have or still do this at the end of the day this is Sports Direct its cheap, occasionally friendly, and you can purchase a variety of items including the biggest mug in the world!
There aren't always staff about to help but when there are they're happy to help. My only gripe is that they're always trying to get you to buy rubbish at the till by offering you all sorts of things you don't want.
The personal service from the guys serving in this store is 900% better than central southampton.
Not a great fan of SDs cramped outlets, especially with C19around. However I needed new tennis shoes & their prices are hard to beat High praise for Troy who'd service & friendly manner was excellent. Give him a bonus MIKE!
I wanted to buy 3 suitcases after spending £150 already I asked a member of staff if you had any more cases other then what we out, He didn't seem interested in helping and said no there all out so I then approached the lady at the front of the store to be told that the lady's on the till would be more helpful, so I went back in the que to be told that there wasn't any and you may or may not get some inthe delivery and they could check anything to see or do anything to help, so on leaving I was telling my son I would contact the head office when Athena was arriving back off her lunch break she stopped to ask if I needed help, she then took the time to check the stock room and then advise me on what I could do to get the cases and that I could order online and collect in store or get them delivered to my home. She was lovely and a credit to the store, It's a shame not all your employees are trained in customer service, Athena deserves recognition for the great job she is doing, I left feeling less annoyed then I would have.
Many thanks to the members of staff that found my boys money pouch and kept it safe for him! He had a panic moment when he realised he left the pocket money he had saved there where he tried on his new trainers. I liked the integrity and honesty from you all.
I visited the store with my 11 year old son, not long before closing on a Sunday I think it was 10/03/19 looking for new School shoes, rugby boots and basketball boots. I was dealt with by Will I spoke to his manager on the day also, so asked for his name who was polite and very helpful. He knew the products well, was very efficient and kept a friendly demeanour. Not only did he deal with us so well he was also dealing with another family with lots of requests at the same time. It really was on closing time when I noticed a full size basketball high up on a display, Will asked if I was ok as he passed and I replied I wondered if there were any around other than the out of reach one. Without hesitation, and no hint of it being a nuisance so close to closing, he retrieved the ball for me. We left with new School shoes, rugby boots and a basketball - they only had a limited range of basketball boots. I was very impressed with Will and thought how good shopping could be if there were more staff around like Will. Well done.
It's alright. Good range of men's clothing and shoes. Also big range of female shoes. However small range of women's clothing compared to the other bigger sports direct shops. claustrophobic and maze like. The prices are average. They say there is a sale on when it's just a way of marketing to make customers buy the products thinking they got a good deal. I wouldn't recommend buying the jeans as the loose shape with in a week, but if you are going to buy shoes and sports gear I would recommend here.
