This place has different vibes compared to other places I have been to. Its bold but, calm. It’s good place to have long conversations with a good music that keeps your tempo in check. The speakers and hones amazed meas if they are saying, I am the loudest being out here yet I am so calmI am definitely coming back.Food: 5/5
Booked in for brunch, only to be told they don't do brunch anymore. Odd, I checked the website while there and the brunch menu is definitely still there. Conveniently the same items were available on the lunch menu but at a 40% premium ..... the food was nice at least. We also came for the music as well but it was digital only I guess they only spin the decks in the evening and it was Elton John the whole time, so no variety. The concept was great, but the execution....... It'd be fine if you're just wanting to drop in for a drink, I suppose.
We were there to see Jarvis Cocker and Alexis Taylor talking about a selection of records they'd chosen. Didn't have any food and only managed one drink no drink service during the talk but had the Spiritland lager, which was decent. Sound system was amazing though!Atmosphere: 5/5
Really disappointing. Food was expensive, cold and average. £15 for a cold hot dog - not great. Hummus and breads was good though. Service was all over the place. We ordered a Roku Gin and a Cotswolds Gin and they came with a sad slice of lime each and no mention of which was which. The waitress disappeared before we new what was happening. We had to taste test to work out which was which. Kinda expected better.
Slightly odd music for my tastes but the drinks were excellent, and the service was brilliant. Prices aren't too bad for central London.Food: 5/5
Good vibes and good music! We came for lunch and had coffee, huevos rotos and the salmon, feta and beetroot on sourdough. Everything was delicious. They play very good music, and the dim lights give it a cool and mysterious atmosphere. We felt very comfortable and stayed for a few hours. Highly recommend this place!
Made a reservation on a Sunday afternoon . We came to hear the 'legendary' audio system - unfortunately the Kuzma was not being used, and the level was too low to be able to listen properly over the general noise of the bar. No tables were set up to immediately face the system from a central position. Our first impression of the Vitavox / JBL / Atelier du Triode system therefore was underwhelming to listen to- it just wasn't being driven hard enough - although extremely pretty to look at! LPs were being played via SL1210mk2 - Tame Impala / Currents when we arrived There wasn't any playlist or up-next available that we could see, I'm not sure if requests are possible so we just had to get what we were given in that respect! The music level was just slightly too loud to easily hold a conversation from one of the tables in front of the system but not loud enough for a 'listening experience' , I found that odd because it was like the bar was set up for background music/ food service but the volume wasn't low enough for that either. The cocktails were good, expensive as expected, a fairly small menu of drinks. Service was prompt and polite! In conclusion- Disappointed this time - but I hope it will be much better on a dedicated Album Club evening. We would have liked to have had some idea of what music they would be playing before we arrived- and more importantly when the full system is in use so we can plan accordingly. So as it was - neither really a very good bar, not was it a good listening experience - I'll put that down to booking at the wrong time for now.
Every point of contact I had here was really lovely service. We booked a table for Sat afternoon and came for the music and sound. When being seated I asked if anyone would be on the decks and was told they don't usually have someone on them in the day - they then put on a record for us but after this finished the sound was still incredible and I'll definitely go back even if no one's on the decks. The atmosphere is calm and deep and the service feels so personal and unique. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.
Updated for 2024: Had dinner & cocktails on a Saturday evening and everything was perfect. The food recommendations from our server were on point and all the drinks were delicious. Music & ambience is always lovely at Spiritland. One of my favourite London places even when I am not DJing here I was going to say the music having just played a 5 hour Depeche Mode set here, but actually it's a fabulous place to hang out at regardless of what genre you're into, the food is delicious, the wine list is excellent & everyone who works here is SO LOVELY!
Great atmosphere and crisp, clear sound. Music selection was also ace. Didn’t have any food though so can’t speak to the qualityService: 5/5
