I have given up with the Spire. Having had to chase for appointment dates to arriving for appointments that they had zero knowledge of me attending. The experience post op has been atrocious, particularly hard to stomach given the costs involved. My latest woe is trying to chase up for another appointment to have the plate removed from my shoulder which I enquired about a month ago and have still yet to receive any response! The worst service I think I have ever experienced in any area of business. I would've lost my job a long time ago if I operated in a similar manner.

Got to admit this hospital is simple amazing the stafff are so kind and nice the surgeon Clifford Barlow has fixed my heart as good as new I was terrified prior to op but it's turned nowhere near as bad as I though. If I want something I simply have to ask and it's there and the food is delicious! Thank you all , your amazing! Xx

I was talked to like a 5 year old, it was humiliating and stressful, I was completely ignored, Dr seems to have a god complex. He doesn't recognise individuals and groups people into his past cases that I know nothing about and are likely not in the slightest relevant. I felt humiliated and that my money was taken when not deserved. Also don't sign anything without reading it, the receptionist hurried me to sign and didn't want me to read it, it's a contract and you should always take the time to read the small print. They share your personal details with third party's, which I found shocking. When I told the receptionist I wished to read it she said she would got through it with me distracting me as much as possible from reading it through. TERRIBLE experience I went there to save time and save NHS and speed things along. My normal GP is very supportive and has never belittled me or refused me treatment. He tried to suggest I didn't have a relationship with my GP and wanted to make sure my NHS GP was of the same opinion as him insult to injury. In my case he has made a mistake and when I got home I had a phone call from my NHS GP which now has confirmed this results from xray. I will get the scans I need regardless, I will pay my bill for this GP appointment feeling rather like I just paid to be shat on from a great height. This Dr reduced me to tears which I was not prepared for and made so so many assumptions with no sound reasons, I was honest with him and I mistakenly trusted him, he showed me no respect in return and forced me into a defensive conversation, he refused to listen to my responses and may as well have called me a disturbed liar. All I wanted was a scan! and I was gong to pay for it.

I was admitted into the Spire Southampton in January for a Spine operation, I had successfully completed the screening process and was well and healthy, and I had even used the soap and the nutritional drink the Spire provided ahead of my operation. The spinal surgery went well but my bowel became impacted and was not treated properly by the hospital and I was subsequently sent home with an impacted bowel which required further treatment. However shortly after discharge I began to feel unwell and within 2 weeks I was readmitted into another hospital by my GP and Surgeon and was diagnosed with a massive infection and required further surgery to clean and remove a significant amount of pus from my spine, I was hospitalised for a further 2 weeks on intravenous antibiotics and was very poorly I am now taking a 6 month course of antibiotics and if they don’t eradicate the infection I am facing a lifetime on medication, if the infection becomes resistant to the antibiotics the metalwork in my spine would have to be removed which in turn could be a life changing event for me, however I remain hopeful the infection will be eradicated. The hospital has been obstructive and is now blaming me for getting an infection in their hospital, I find their response to a serious infection insulting and dismissive not only to me but to all the patient who use the Spire in Southampton, they just don’t care.
