Myself and my family just stayed here for a few nights, we wanted a wild camping experience but due to younger children we were unsure, however we found this lovely spot as close to wild camping with the necessities. The ground is lovely for pitching a tent, extremely clean and there is a nice building with toilets, shower room and a laundry room. 10p charge for use of hot water but hey! What's 10p really! We had a fresh water tap at our disposal. The lady that runs this site is a dream, she was so kind and lovely made our stay very welcoming and provided us with lots or information on the area around us. Will definitely be staying here again. Budget site with everything you need 10/10
Quiet site. Basics are there. No electricity Toilet and shower blocks are kept very tidy but could do with an update. There's a washing machine from the 70's. Basically everything is a warp back to the 70's. Price also.
Very well priced, good facility’s extremely helpful owners and located at a great place. These guys Allan literally saved our holiday, after a few problem with our camper van on the way and none of the local garages wanting to touch it until next week Allan was very helpful and let us his tools, not only that he drove me to Inverness TWICE to get parts. Accept dogs, very friendly and welcoming quiet site.
A fine camping where we paid 5£ for a night with just a tent and our two bicycles. For that price you get decent facilities, where you have to pay 20p for showers and 10p for hot water. Really good value for your money
Really good for a low cost camp site. I paid £5 per night for a one person tent. Toilets and showers are basic but clean. The ground is flat and firm so good for tents.
Lovely peaceful site with friendly interesting locals and foreigners. Facilities basic but just what you need. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Were going to stay for 1 night but stayed for 4. Interesting places to visit too- the living museum is recommended xx
Very basic campsite set in beautiful countryside. Wake up to a most inspiring view of mountains all around. A great place to launch your paddle down the river Spey.
Wouldn't even rate this as a 1 ! Know it all helper!!!! raise the riot act saying the one and only place we could put tent up was the place there was another as they were leaving hadn't started to at that point it was by toilets and waste stinking of waste trains tooting as they passed close by place looked like a old farm auction ! Never ever again ! Left before tent got out the bag
Positives - Beautiful views, nice clean site, river very close which was nice for a dip, basic but suitable facilities, very cheap, small supermarket and train station 10 minutes away Negatives - Trains could be quite noisy, midges weren't bad but still noticable, facilities needed 20p pieces to use, poor phone signal, no information desk upon arrival Overall - very good but quite basic, would stay again!
The facilities are clean but very basic although at prices from £10 per night you get what you pay for No electric hook ups The views from the site are great and it's only 5 minutes walk from the village of Newtonmore.
