My bikes (I have several hybrids and road bikes) and my wife's bike have been regularly serviced and upgraded by Tory for nearly 10 years. He has also custom built exceptionally good bikes for both my wife and I. He always pays great attention to the details of what needs to be done and does the required work thoroughly, conscientiously and with great expertise. He pays a lot of attention to understanding what the customer wants and is prepared to take the time to get it right. He displays an impressive depth of knowledge about cycling and its history, along with considerable knowledge of both legacy and current technology and also an exceptional understanding of the myriad number of companies who manufacture, distribute and sell cycling equipment. If you're in need of something bike related, I would not hesitate to recommend South West Bicycle Works to you.

Excellent service from Tory for a recent bike fit. He clearly has a wealth of experience, and can fit a bike on this basis rather than needing a computer to do all the work, a rare thing these days! Great value service, would highly recommend.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE!! After doing work on my previous bike (see comment dated Dec 20th 2012) I asked Tory if he was interested and could he build me a bespoke road bike from scratch with some key elements to its design. He stated no problem and so it began, there were early signs of incompetence that I should of acted upon but gave Tory the benefit of doubt, how wrong could I of been! When I eventually got my bike I rode it for a few months until ready to fit the standard unmodified mudguards to it for Autumn/Winter when it became apparent they would not fit. I contacted Tory and he advised that he would fix and also fix an issue within the bottom bracket area that had transpired. After having my bike for 2 ½ weeks I went to collect it when it became clear that there was no progress with the mudguard issue apart from some bodged attempt at it by Tory. As one of the main build requirements was the ability of the frame set to take mudguards and up to a 28mm tyre it was clear that Tory had selected an unsuitable frame set for this, also he had damaged my bike whilst working on the bottom bracket which I unfortunately did not notice until I got home. Several months later and Tory is still refusing to rectify in any form the issues that exist, he has ignored all communication from myself and that of an independent dispute company that I sourced to mediate after getting advice from C.A.B, which only leaves me an option of small claims court. The bike project cost me a few quid short of £2000.00 and I do not have the desired bike that Tory said he could build for me, the fact that he is happy to take someone’s money and screw them over shows what a low life rouge trader he is!
