I am incredibly impressed with the new parking system here. The fact that the first half-hour is free AND you only pay when you are leaving is so thoughtful. This is a huge relief for patients and their families. In stressful situations when every second counts, not having to worry about rushing to pay for parking before an appointment makes a world of difference. It's a small detail that shows a huge amount of compassion and understanding for what patients are going through. Thank you for implementing such a patient-friendly policy!
I was at southend hospital yesterday and had a £4 charge machine kept throwing out my pound coins so I put a £10 note in it made a lot of noise but no change came out, I phoned a number no one available so rang an hour later and a very helpful guy said he would get the change for me, but a waste of my time
The most unfriendly exterior of any hospital I have been to. I'm a wheelchair user. The pavements and roads make it impossible for me without help. Very dangerous.
Slightly difficult to get parking here during busy times but there are other car parking options in the building so all good
Terrible. Sometimes the barrier is down when there are in fact spaces. Sometimes it allows you in when there are no spaces. Last couple of days the barrier has been permanently open, so it's even more chaotic. The system needs changing to allow a car in when a car exits. Simple. Worst car park ever, as are the other ones in Southend Hospital.
