The University has garnered numerous accolades and boasts state-of-the-art facilities, rendering it highly appealing to both domestic and international students. The quality of instruction is of a high standard, ensuring that every student receive adequate attention and support, which is reflected in the smaller class sizes. I wholeheartedly endorse this university without reservation.
My time at Solent university had both positive and challenging aspects. The campus had a friendly atmosphere, and I enjoyed connecting with other creative students. I also appreciated the independence to work on my own projects.nHowever, I felt I wasn’t able to achieve everything that had been promised when I applied. On the university website, we were offered the chance to learn a range of new art techniques to help develop our skills further example, pottery, jewellery making etc.When I approached my tutor about these, they seemed to have almost no idea what I was talking about almost as if they weren’t aware of what they were supposed to be teaching. This was disappointing and left me feeling there was a large gap between what was advertised and what was actually delivered.nIn my first year, we had only two workshops which were unrelated to the website, and after that, there were none. While I enjoyed the independence, we were not taught any new techniques throughout the rest of the 3 year course. For much of the time I was there, Google and YouTube were essentially my main art teachers.nOverall, while there were moments of inspiration, I believe the course would benefit from better communication, more structured teaching, and delivering the learning opportunities that are promoted to prospective students.nnFine Art Graduate
My time here during my studies wasn't the greatest, especially in terms of support from my tutors and peers. It'd seem applying for jobs here is equally bad - so no support whilst in as a student or when out in the real world after Unless you're already 'in', apparently. A newish building next to a library of outdated books does not a uni make.
Studied here between 2005 and 2008. The standard of tutoring was excellent as were the facilities for business studies along with available resources.
This institution of higher learning is where Dr. Milo Wolf completed his PhD on the effects of training at long muscle lengths, adding invaluable insight to and streamlining the field of modern sports science. I have made noticeable gains following Dr. Wolf's protocol, so I have to commence Solent for being the crucible of an innovative scientific mind.
