A relatively big library compared to others in Southampton with a free art gallery as well. One can also use a copier machine for a reasonable price. Better to download the app mentioned at the copier to easily print documents directly from mobile. Right opposite to the library there is a street parking as well. There is a kids' reading area, a lot of computers for you to login and use if you have a library card etc. Books reserving feature is nice. Staff are very helpful.
there are way better places to study in my opinion, if you go to a cafe it would be quiter whereas here theres people singing and playing the tamborines at 10 in the morning!! nowhere to plug in ur devices either and just overall very noisy , there should at least be one quiet area
I've come here to study on my laptop over the past few days. Frustratingly, there are only a few study spaces where I can plug in my laptop, so for some of the time I was there, I had no power, so I was limited to the amount of time I could study. On top of that, the spaces that do have power also have a radiator underneath them, meaning that during the winter, it gets unbearably warm. I can't really comment on the selection of books, as that's not why I was there; however, there does seem to be a wide variety and I'm sure almost everyone could find something they're interested in.
Big and well equipped library. I took 1 star because the children's area could be better equipped. Other libraries are awesome for children, this one not so much.
Excellent place where to use computer. It is also an excellent place where to study because there are many books. When living in Southampton, I enjoyed using computer at this library. When it is not busy, it is possible to use a computer for 4 hours. The library staff are very kind, friendly and helpful. They also provide an outstanding service. The library is also well designed and well lit.

Today was the first time I've used the library and it won't be the last! The staff was very friendly and helped me with my registration and a couple of other things I needed to do, including printing and scanning. I was happy to find interesting books that I want to read, information about language exchange groups, computers available for work or study... and the atmosphere is very calm.
Outstanding architecture of Southampton Civic Center adds special value to very good library based on ground floor with wheelchair access. The building complex also contains the; Guildhall Performing Arts Venue, Council Offices and Town Hall, Art Gallery, Archives Library, Marine Museum dedicated to RMS Titanic
My partner and I joined the library today and were made to feel very welcome. Whole process was very easy and Charles the lovely staff member was very helpful.
