I called the council this morning expecting a long wait. The phone was answered within 2 minutes. I had a really helpful person called Laura who helped me with my council tax query and talked me through how to get to the relevant pages on the website to help resolve the issue I had. Reviews tend to be written when people have bad experiences, not good ones. Well, this was a good one. And thank you, Laura.
Take no responsibility for anything and absolutely awful to deal with. Don’t even deserve 1 star
Absolutely useless and not even worth one star. My neighbour for 2 years has been playing loud music all through the night most times 9/10pm until 11am. Shouting, swearing and using racist language. Have been sending the audio notes to council like I’ve been asked to and no action ever gets taken by them. Proper Joke of a council.
I would like to sincerely thank one of your staff members, Belinda Littledyke, for her outstanding work. She has restored my faith in social workers as she managed to complete a case that has been ongoing for over 2 months in the space of 10 minutes. The whole process was resolved without any issues as she took her time to help me out. She was extremely helpful and supportive. Please let her know I’m sending my thanks.
Having to deal with people after the death of a loved one is difficult enough, you don't need large organisations making it more difficult. You'd like to think that simply returning the keys to a bungalow rented by an elderly mother would be made as simple as possible - instead the council seem hell-bent on squeezing as much money from the deceased estate as possible. The latest episode - them asking for payment to remove an outhouse already on the property when the person took up the tenancy. Hours on hold, rude reception staff refusing to put you through to the people you NEED to speak to. So pleased I don't have to deal with them regularly.
