Nice place. Staff were friendly, helpful and on the ball. There was a large choice of meals but I was disappointed with the food, I thought It was pretty average and mainstream. As we both sat there examining the dishes and trying to figure out how best to break it down into edible pieces, I looked around and saw other people doing the same. They've focused on trying to serve fries in quirky ceramic pint pots or miniature shopping baskets and rendered the dishes impractical to eat. At least if my meal had come in the mini basket but on a regular plate, I could have tipped out the contents and eaten in a conventional way, with a knife and folk, but no, my meal was served in a stupid stainless steel terrine. The chips looked gorgeous, on other people's plates, but I can't review them because they had ran out by the time we were served.

What a fab menu, great choice! Gluten free menu too! Everything's fresh so my picky requests were completely catered for! Nice range of local ales and over 40 gins! The place has such a relaxed feel and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating

Very pleasant place. Good choice of drinks and bar meals at sensible prices. Good prompt polite service. Don't go Friday unless you've booked.
