Absolutely incredible food. Very well priced and staff were so friendly and very welcoming to us. I don't think there is a better pub Fish & Chips in the country! 100% coming back here on our adventures!
First time here while we are spending a weeks holiday in the Lake District. Nice place and nice staff. I had the mushroom Wellington which I enjoyed but my husband was disappointed in the Steak and Ale Pie as it was seriously over cooked. The gravy had a good flavor.
This Fox has every reason to be Snooty! Great meal earlier this week. Absolutely fantastic food especially the venison pate with sourdough bread and the two fishy starters enjoyed by my Very Significant Other as her meal for the night. Lovely spot with beautiful views across stunning countryside and the friendliest of welcomes!!!!!
Sorry first visit, service was very slow, took nearly 1.1/2 hours before food arrived and at the cost was not good value. There are better venues in the area. Felt as though we had been forgotten. A local resident was served in half the time.
Had a family evening meal hear. We prebooked and reserved a table, wonderful welcome upon arrival. A group of 6 in total. Shown to our table and left to browse the menu after looking at the specials board. We decided on mains with a dessert if we could manage after eatting. The mains were all brought out together with a few sides we all tucked in and thoroughly enjoyed ever bit of it Fish medley 2x pie chicken,ham,leek Chicken burger Aubergine cannelloni 1 child's cheese burger. No desserts were needed after this but we ordered 5 to takeaway. All enjoyed when at home or next day We can't recommend enough lovely place lovely staff.
Steak & Ale pie was really tasty. Very large portion. Crispy chips too....wonderful.
Beautiful pub/ setting and nice people. But 4 of 5 the food was inedible. Looking at the other reviews I hope they this is a real one off, but it was an expensive one off for us. Would have been nice to have been offer a discount I compensation.
Could not recommend highly enough. Were so helpful when booking and reserved us a table suitable for our whole party, which included a wheelchair user. The place has a really lovely feel, with a team that are so friendly and helpful, and the food is absolutely amazing. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and look forward to coming back soon.
Fabulous meal. Best chicken and leek pie ever. Lovely veg. Great staff. If you're near Keswick go there, amazing food.
Fabulous overnight stop with a delicious dinner and breakfast. Beautiful surroundings and friendly helpful staff. Well worth a visit.
