Didn't attend a concert but went around all the shops there. Some very pricey but others not too bad. One shop ceramics and paintings, was very reasonably priced. Also, I spent far too much on a new rug from a home and garden shop, but it was worth it. Had lovely lunch in a cafe situated as you go in. Parking free. Only gave 4* as I haven't attended the music venue yet.
Stayed at 15 The Courtyard, highly recommended the accommodation Well equipped 2 level apartment. Lots on site if you don't feel like venturing out anywhere further and a very good base for a long stay in the area.Rooms: 5/5
Snape is beautiful. It was wonderful to visit Britten's musical home alongside The Red House. The Early Music Shop was an unexpected find. I was in recorder heaven! A very nice man helped me choose one. I'm now enjoying playing my flute music on the treble recorder.
Very good location for a concert, the acoustics are fantastic, although the seats are not the most comfortable. We were disappointed though that the circular walk was not possible because it was overgrown in places.Service: 4/5
Your service goes above and beyond. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your kindness to me. After two disasters neither of which you were to blame, with buying the cup with feet and blue motif, breaking one and another arriving broken, you were so kind to send me another one f.o.c. I can't wait to come back now and rifle through all your pottery. Your manager and the young gentleman who answered the phone were so kind. God bless you and make your business thrive. You deserve it.
Had never heard of this place and just went on the off chance to get something to eat. What an amazing place. lucky enough to see orchestra rehearsing for evening performance. Plenty of walks lot to see and on the banks of the river. Nearby activities: Plenty of walks. Of interest to bird watchers and painters because of the magnificent countryside and large skies. There are a number of shops on site including interesting antique shops. Food & drinks: Food was excellent quality. Very much enjoyed my burger. Menu a little limited especially if you don't like seafood. Noteworthy details: Took my mother in a wheelchair and most areas accessible in particular the restaurant and theatre. Some outdoor areas were gravel which made it a little harder but did not stop us.
Range of shops. Food, art, gifts, antiques. Food/deli very expensive. Boat trips. Bought cards from Lancaster artist, lovely affordable prints & paintings. Walks to Aldeburgh. Some sculptures. Lots of free parking. Fantastic theatre, historic buildings.
Enjoyed fascinating musical experiences as part of 2024 Aldeburgh Festival, the part we saw over 4 days was full of marvellous performances. We enjoyed top-notch versions of straightforward dishes in the River View cafe the Restaurant offering more sophisticated meals was booked out, and art installations across the site. Britten Pears Arts has made the site a great destination that offers other experiences too including retail, walks and a great setting in the countryside, and food-related events & festivals. Recommended.
Beautiful place focusing on the arts. In addition there are some exquisite small shops within the complex selling some lovely original merchandise. Lovely walks can be had along the adjacent river Alde, or a leisurely boat ride ran directly from Salt Maltings.
Visited the various businesses on this complex, all staff were friendly and polite and the whole place was spotless. Most of the prices for items are pretty much in dreamland but it did look of reasonable quality, however I feel that a vast majority was seriously overpriced. Opted to avoid the cafe on this occasion as it was horrendously busy so didn't fancy waiting for a table. In all it was a pleasant hour spent visiting this place for the very first time, the highlight for me was the Dutch barge, the worst thing was old people driving electric cars.
